I'm on the fence about what I think about the interior... The textures of the plastic parts seemed/felt like much higher quality than the Camaro interior, but at the end of the day, still just cheap hard plastic which doesn't excite me much.
Check out the Canyon. They have a stitched leather dash. Still plenty of plastic in there too but it's much nicer than the Colorado. I was surprised that even on the high end Colorado its still all plastic. GM needs to start stepping it up with the interiors. I went to an auto show recently and sat in all kinds of makes and models. I think of the big 3, Chevy is still the furthest behind on interior design.

Sorry for the minor rant but, I guess I'll never understand the fascination with wanting high end/soft touch interior panels in a regular working man's car or truck. If its attractive to look at, (looks higher quality), is durable, and doesn't make annoying cheap rattle sounds when driving/holds up over time.....then what is the problem???

I mean...when I put my finger to my dash...I expect it to be a solid surface. I wouldn't want a squishy surface. A hard surface with a softer feel, and a little give would be nice I'll admit. But again I don't see a need for it when all I'm ever going to do is look at it, clean it, or set something on it. If I'm buying something in the luxury price range, then yes...I want that stuff that I don't really need.

As for interiors...its my opinion that GM's new designs are damn good. The trucks may be a bit on the bland side, but at least its not all over the place like the new Tacoma.

Soft touch plastics are typically regarded as higher quality materials. The hard stuff is what plagued vehicles from the 80s to 90s to even the early 2000s and people are just done with it.

Because most of us aren't buying "working mans" trucks anymore. If I was buying a $17k beater truck to use for work everyday then yeah who cares. When the prices are north of $30k for a mid size truck I expect more out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want a suede stitched hand sewn albino zebra hide dash. I just don't want to feel like i'm sitting inside a $35k piece of tupperware.

To me, a 30K plus truck is the working man's price I'm talking about. I'm not talking about a W/T model here. Again...I said attractive/durable/reliable. If it doesn't push in a half centimeter when I touch it with my finger I could care less. If it looks like the soft touch stuff I'm golden. If it looks like the hard plastic Tupperware stuff...then I agree with you.

Today's interiors are a FAR cry from the 90s and 00s GM models that had hard plastic, didn't look great, and weren't always durable/rattle-free either.

Oh, I thought the Colorado only came in a v6 currently, with the turbo diesel 4 banger coming out later.

The 6 is an upgrade. You can even get a 4 banger 4X4

Maybe maybe not. Depends on your definition of the term. But I consider anyone that's not making much more than the national average household income your average working person, so to me it is.

Colorados spend less than 17 days on the lot before selling, 41% conquest rate.
