So just to make it clear, for the next day or two I will be a complete Ford fanboy. Then I'll return to moderate views. Consider yourself warned.

609 and you thought it would be better?

609 with 15% loss is 716 crank horsepower.
609 with 12% loss is 692 crank horsepower.

Here? It's possible. And in any case this new Shelby has captivated me since I saw it at NAIAS with it's demented open grill and attendant bad boy attitude. Glad it's posting such impressive numbers.

Even 20% loss which isn't unheard off still puts it above 662 HP.

You can get a tvs kit from ford for the 07 gt500 with a ford racing tune. With 11 psi of boost, it put down 605 rwhp. I posted a link to it earlier in this thread. The tune was less than optimal but you kept your warranty. Flash forward to 2013 with a bigger motor, and more boost but basically the same hp. Yes, I think it's a little low.

Every FRPP kit I've seen a dyno for was in the 590s, and you don't keep your full warranty, you keep 1/12, and only if you installed it before you hit 2/24. This makes 609 and has 5/60. Obviously there's going to be plenty of room for tuning, but 609 at the wheels with a 5/60 is awesome.

Do you think that the independently tuned 07 gt500 with tvs kit from ford could run at redline for 360 hours straight?

This is Fords engine sign off test.

EcoBoost also endured Ford’s standard engine durability test signoff by running at maximum revs and turbo boost for the equivalent of 15 straight days or 360 hours.
The point is that Ford could tune new 5.8 gt500 motor to have more horsepower but it would not pass the durability/reliability tests as well as all the federal environmental regulations it needs to pass.
