This thread is over a year old and 39 pages long.

I still remember sitting in an FDA training course in Nashville, constantly refreshing the web browser on my phone the whole day. Murdered my battery.

Maybe its not, but the colorado canyon have my interests peaked. Like a few others have said, I will have to see what the year end incentives look like. We all have seen how at years end you can typically get 6-8K off the MSRP of a full size.

MSRP of the F-150 I want is 42K, my local dealer is offering 8K off that truck bringing it down to 34K

MSRP of the Colorado I want is 36K, right now my local dealers are only taking about 1K of the MSRP.

Even though I have said, I wouldn't use my truck to its full capabilities, I don't know if I could justify spending more, on a smaller less capable truck. Now once more incentives hit the Colorado/Canyon that could easily sway my opinion

I don't recall ever seeing large incentives on a Colorado/Canyon. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

It wouldnt need to be as big as the full size incentives lol. 2-3K off would put them right in the same range probably make the Colorado cheaper which then it would be all up to which truck I liked better.

I thought for sure, that I would be buying a new Canyon. I had actually gone as far as working up the exact options with my salesman. After it was all said and done, I just couldn't justify not taking advantage of the substantial savings on the F-150's. They put the final cost real close to what I would have spent on the Canyon I had spec'd.

My dealer said they never do incentives on a first year vehicle. The demand is always strong.

That is where my problem lies. I don't need the full size but can not justify the cost of the midsize IF I can get the full size for the same price or less.

You guys are back on price again, which I completely understand. For me if the Colorado was 5k more than an equally equipped Silverado I would still get the Colorado. But that's just me.

Full size is too much for the big city commute and small parking spaces, but I still want the luxury of a truck with all the bells and whistles because that's where most of my time is spent. 45min commute one way in traffic.

I understand you guys that have the ability to jump up to the bigger truck, but when the commute is too long, the parking spaces too small, the garage is too narrow, or you just don't want a full size truck, then this thing is perfect.

Stop comparing it to the Silverado, and start treating it like a whole different vehicle. My 2012 Equinox fully loaded with a 4 banger came to 34,000 before incentives. This truck fully loaded with a V6, 4 wheel drive, and Z71 package comes in at 38,000. This truck is definitely worth a 4 grand difference between what we have now, and what we could have.

The truck is worth every dime. It's priced right. There will always be massive incentives on the Silverado that will make you think why would I get the small truck, but when you're a mid size truck person you don't even look at the Silverado as an option. I drive 5 different full size crew cab long bed pickup trucks on a daily basis. I hate them all.

And this.

I will most likely buy a 2016 Colorado or Canyon. I have never considered buying a full size truck... nor would I in the future. If I was going to cross shop anything it would be a Ford Flex.

Clearly the market for these are people who otherwise wouldn't buy a truck and people who are tired of their Tacomas.

It just makes sense for the smaller truck with less capability to priced well below a larger sibling and it is but the incentives make the full size more tempting for the majority of truck buyers. The MPG not being much better doesn't help the Colorado either. Keep in mind I want one myself and don't care for a full size either, I just understand their argument. The people that don't care about price are keeping this truck selling pretty well but how long will that last? I hope for awhile.

This is basically what I have been saying is my case. To buy a smaller less capable vehicle for more money than a bigger more capable vehicle doesn't make sense to me.

I get that some people just don't a full size I get that. I just need a truck, whichever truck suits my needs best is the one I'll get.

The full size extended cab F150 is only like 7 inches longer and 5inches wider than the crew cab Colorado long bed. On paper that doesn't seem like a lot to me. Also the extended cab has more interior room for rear seat passengers than the crew cab Colorado in all areas except leg room which I think the Colorado has about a inch and half more.
