GM reported revenue of $122 billion in 2020, DOWN from last year's $137 billion which was down from $149 Billion in 2016!!!! NOT A GOOD TREND WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN 1 YEARS PROFIT from 1 time tricks. Profit figures can often be accounting tricks or cost cutting such as IDLING production facilities like Lansing (depending on the UAW contract). GM has been poorly managed for a LONG time. Pontiac and Oldsmobile GONE. Buick .... almost gone. Cadillac a sad shadow of the once standard of luxury for the world. The 2 best cars they built in the last 25 years were never sold > the Cien and the 16.


As far as electric they're just glorified golf carts that are too pricey and inconvenient for the mass market. All car makers need an intelligent mix of gas/electric, not one or the other. The FACT is they run on dino-juice too, their electricity generated by nat gas! (I was in on the tesla IPO)






GM's market share in 1980 was 62.6% now it is 17.3% That is lousy customer relations and ignoring HALO products like Camaro!





MY MAIN POINT > since factory orders are less than 5% of buyers, all of us should get our ORDERED/money down cars produced 1st! Before anything is produced to sit on a lot! THAT IS JUST COMMON SENSE and good marketing! All dealers large or small have employees that need revenue!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am walking since January

It’s really not hard to have high profit margins when all your cars are built the same with different badges. GMC is pure profit for GM. Sounds like a lot of guys here bought a Camaro a few years ago and said they know everything about cars now. You’re literally trying to argue a point where Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Saturn no longer exist. How’s Buick’s sales doing? How did the latest gen Impala turn out, those Malibu’s sure were great cars. You don’t have to agree with me I’m simply trying to see how other people feel about not having their cars and GM saying we really don’t care how you feel profits over product. I’m not saying they should go full blown on the Camaro I’m saying ship my and everyone’s cars who have orders and shut it down if you’re not investing in more production of the vehicle why hold people hostage? I really hate that I love ICE Camaro so much. You don’t get returning customer by screwing them on previous deals. Not sure where some of you learned business from.

GM does not care about making Camaro orders wait. I am stuck in the same boat as many of you are. I feel bad for those who have had their cars built and just sitting there. At least my February of 2021 order has not been built so it will not be a terrible letdown if it gets pushed to 2022. At least I did not put down a deposit and can just bailout whenever. And Mary Berra is too busy rolling around in her safe full of $$$$$$$$$$ like Scrooge McDuck to care about Camaro's or semi conductors and microchips.

Totally anecdotal, but my local, small town, rural PA dealership had 0 new Silverados on their lot a couple weeks ago. Just for some perspective.

Question for everyone with an order on hold, Did your Dealer contact you and let you know the plant shut down and your order will be in stand still? I was never contacted until I reached out to them after 10 weeks when my car was suppose to be ready for delivery.

And my anecdote from a couple days ago still stands 1,030 Chargers/challengers on the lot within an easy drive of me. JUST now checked and there are over 200 RAM 1500's on the lot in my city and dodge is offering incentives. ............ GM managers didn't plan ahead and ALSO they should have had clauses in their contracts with chip makers to get 1st priority, THEY ARE THE ELEPHANTS IN THE ROOM. And for months these chip makers should be working round the clock, it's mostly machines

My Salesman is a young guy, he honestly seemed to have no clue when I contacted him. But the info his Manager gave him I totally agree with you. I was just wondering if other dealerships took the time to let their customers with a deposit down know.

As a young guy he should have tons of energy to research his industry and get clued in. Typical these days. (I already answered)

I ordered mine from Apple (I'm in south suburbs). They usually have 200 cars or so. They have less than 100 as well.

I know your new here BUT you should really change your attitude. GearheadSS does this for a living and he knows EXACTLY what he is talking about. He is here trying to help people understand what is going on with their orders and GM. No need for you to act like this just because he's not saying what you want to hear.....
