Finally received my intake, think I'm going to do minimal porting to it as everything feels really good. Most of the seams in the plastic seem like they step up larger, so the air seems like it wouldn't be affected much.

I also have a 95mm throttle body and dont think I'll actually be putting it on for two reasons.

#1 the altitude I'm at I don't have an issue with map vs ambient air as it is. My altitude is 6400+ and I don't believe throwing a larger throttle body will do much.

#2 I saw the intake is kinda thin on the throat so you cant fully open it up to utilize 100% of the 95mm.

I have access to a milling machine so the TB wont need a adapter if I do decide down the road to install it. I also machined some ofr the cross bar in it just like I did on my stock one.

GM list price on the intake is now $360, with my discount at the dealer I paid $217 plus sales tax.

I did my porting and it’s dam close. GPI talks about it and address concerns in below link. He’s mainly talking about the 103mm which he has in his hands in the video. It’s not recommended for boost because of thin throat area.

https://youtu.be/rZSprqJHA9I

After adding the adapter plate I could not find a ridge/bump between front of TB opening to the rear of the throat. It’s was a smooth transition. For the price and results I am good with it compared to the MSD and even if it’s not a true 95mm/103mm it’s even on performance with MSD according to the video. But porting only gaining 3 HP was a low point or actually how good the stock version is. I am waiting for GPI to get it on the Dyno with the ported 95 mm.

In your case I would try the different set ups at your altitude and see which one runs better at your track. A tune and the 95 mm you would think at that altitude would still give you an edge. Drag racing at sea level definitely has its advantages.

Lots of engine covers for sale at www.corvetteforum.com for anyone needing one expect about 200 bucks but I’m sure it can be negotiated lower.

I took the LT2 Intake Manifold off today.

I was not happy with the Map Sensor across the top. I original lengthen the sensor wire and it worked fine for awhile. Then I started getting voltage problems caused by the wire on my map sensor and a few codes. I switch backed to the shorter version and it was fine. Now I decided to tuck underneath the manifold after someone else did it. I am concerned about the wire compressing to much on engine and manifold. So I decided to shave the bottom and put two side port windows on manifold in order to pass wire thru the sides without any compression. I was originally just going to make a small channel for the wire to run underneath, but I got carried away and shaved the whole bottom. I then decided to wrap the bottom in heat foil tape.

Basically I did this because of the wire, don’t no if any benefits of wrapping bottom with the foil tape but it certainly can’t hurt.

My next mission is get a 2020 Corvette Intake Manifold bolt or just go down to the dealership to see if ordering it is the same. I am a bit concerned if the bolts are the same length or not. It’s piece of mind for me. The Corvette manifold is taller so I almost think the bolts are longer.

Great job and feed back, so the stock map sensor wire will reach no problem going under the shaved bottom and thru your port holes, no need to buy the extension for the map harness?? I would say keeping the intake cool is the way to go. I am following your lead, am close to doing this on my 2021 LT1

Do you think the stock LT1 intake studs are too short? < how much taller are holes versus the LT1 intake?

Sorry but that’s with the GPI map sensor extension. The stock one would never reach.

I actually think they are to short but I have to get the info on the Corvette intake manifold bolt. Either way I really do care if they are the same length or different lengths I just want to know the correct info. Because when I torque them down it just didn’t feel the same as the stock Camaro set up. Could be just me.

which extension did you finally get and use, I am going to order one very soon. I can check with a chevy dealer on the intake stud part # versus the LT1 part #. So you do not like the way it feels when you are torqueing the bolts? are you using the barrels also?

I tried both with sleeves and no sleeves. Just didn’t feel right. Ended up with sleeves in.
