P.Ham thanks for doing that! That is exactly the look I'm going for. I prefer the subtle and classy look rather than the "hit em in the face look." To each their own. I think all the Camaros look great, but I'm a 51 year old woman and don't want my car to scream "look at me." I prefer the more subtle appearance.
I'm also planning to paint the strip between the tail lights glossy black at the same time. I may do the bowties black as well. I must admit, I'm a bit concerned about doing things to it that would take away from it being "stock." Thanks again. Last edited by Darth_Emma; 02-02-2010 at 06:34 PM. |

Just put mine on.
Just worried about washing and keeping the spears from catching on the rag or anything. |

I just got an estimate to have hood spears with "SS" stenciled on them from my dealer's body shop. They are saying $700 to $800! That seems a bit steep.
I have never had this kind of work done on a car before. Can anyone suggest how I might go about finding another custom paint place in my area? The yellow pages are not very helpful. All the "automotive painting" places say "we only do collision work." Last edited by Darth_Emma; 12-24-2009 at 04:00 PM. |

Below are dark gray & flat black spears on a black car. Were selling them for about $56 this month only - use coupon code "jan10" for 20% off the regular price of $69.

That blue looks great on the white car. Love it. I didn't think I'd like white, but after seeing the white Camaros, I love it! Very clean looking. I like clean lines.

i noticed that some of the pictures show that the spears end very sharply, but some end in a rounded manner...can some1 explain why?
Is it due to the install or are they made differently by certain companies? |

Some folks install the spears flush with the top of the hood bulge. Some folks dont. Some install the spears and stretch to follow the curve and angle of the hood that is close to the mailslot. Some people dont.
I installed mine with an inch or less below the top of the hood bulge following the curve and angle of the hood to make it congruant and symetrical. Some folks think it looks weird. I didnt want the vinyl to meet at the top and catch and eventually peel during washing or from the elements, et al. Mine sits more in the valley of the hood than on the angled part of the bulge. The main 2 vinyl companies are 3M and Avery. There's a lot of stuff out there and everyone has their preferences. |
