When I ordered my camaro it was middle January and colder than 32 degrees so my dealers insurance wouldn't let any cars with summer only tires off the lot. Now I had already tested several cars the previous fall just now manual transmission cars cuz they didn't have any.

I've been to a few dealerships before purchasing. One was a year ago and they said they didn't have any to test drive at the time. Another was undergoing construction at the time and had the Camaros in a separate area that would have been likely somewhat difficult to get out but honestly wouldn't have been tricky at all (I did see one later in the lot). Needless to say, no test drive.

At the dealership I bought at, the salesman just handed me the keys (I was with two friends this time) and we just went for a drive without the salesman. He just said have fun!

Rest is history.

It's a Camaro not a Koenigsegg.

Find a new dealer

Getting real close to a resolution to this story. Went in saturday and talked to the supposed "King" of the place which got me the first test drive to begin with. Essentially we talked it out and was able to land a tentative deal. He mentioned to me the new guy doesn't really know how to grab customers properly, and even the General Manager himself came to me saying it's all yours and go for another whirl if you like. I'll likely be grabbing a hyper blue 2SS on thursday, already got the deposit down before two other potential buyers so I'll be having first dibs. They're going to check their full GM inventory in Canada for any similar optioned Blacks or Red ones but the further I go out the longer it'll take and there may be a charge as well for the transport freight. I sort of wanted black so it can match the rest of the drivewat or red since it's my favorite color. To be honest I'll probably stick with the Hyper Blue since I was able to knock off 4k on the price, and if I were to factory order, I'd have to settle with less options to get that same price. AND that blue is freaking beautiful and made me fall in love when I saw it in person in the sunlight. Now we just have to play the waiting game for my credit approval, recalls, detailing, etc and it'll all be mine!

With cars like these, the drive is what seals the decision to actually buy!

Do not let the dealership detail your car I definitely did not I took it home and did it myself you don't want a bunch of swirls or scratches on that nice blue

Quick update. I spoke to my brother in laws friend who works there (only if I knew earlier) he told me that they shouldn't have done that and it may be to do with the new guy I was talking too. He told me to call a particular salesman and he'll be able to pull some strings for me. If that doesn't work out I'll be taking all your guys advice and give them the finger and maybe throw a turd at their window
Nobody should "pull strings" for you. It's common practice to test drive any car you are interested in. Besides the obvious 100k+ cars and limited edition ones, they may make you show proof of funds. But you dont jump hoops for a camaro. Leave that ****ing dealer with a bad review and move on .

I test drove 3 challengers and 4 Camaros and didn't buy any of them. Even though I didn't buy those it helped me realize I like the new and older camaros and scat pack challenger. So I found the lowest mileage 2013 SS I could find. I'm in my 30s now though so maybe I look more responsible? If I were u I'd try a different dealer till one let me test drive.

My friend who is loaded and dresses like a bum decided to trade his 92 Fleetwood at a Cadillac dealership , they out right refused to even help him , literally looked at him and said I don't think this place is right for you . He went down the street and dropped cash on a escalade.
