In the case of what is occurring now, information should be distributed to dealers, forums, alert on main web site to the effect that "Due to rescheduling on account of elimination of the third shift, tentative production weeks after 03/20 are being rescheduled".
In a way this was the procedure utilized with the controlled allocations procedure announced in Aug. 2016 and published on this forum. Dealers could not even put an order into the workbench for an A10 ZL1 until Phase 2, well into December. Consequently,my order placed with my dealer, and many others, could not even be entered. That procedure I believe created a large sudden influx of ZL1 A10 orders that Chevy had no idea how many were coming at them. As it has been said, I feel all orders that were accepted and had TPW's will be produced this MY based on the best current info. Last ZL1 orders will be accepted the week of April 6 and they have well into June to produce them. I hope they prioritize SRE orders.

When is the March DSOP For ZL1's? I could not find the post.... I think all of us that were booted from 3/27 may get a new TPW Monday. I would hate if we get put in with the March DSOP ordering. So can anyone remember what dates march DSOP falls?

The simplest and most equitable solution to ordering for both the customer and the dealer is first come first served with a limit on ordering quantity. SRE orders aka sales retail sold take precedence over everything. Regardless of what dealer the order comes from whether they initially were given allocation or not. Reason being is just because a dealer sold a car last year doesn't mean they will sell one this year. This would eliminate cars sitting on lots across the country with no current buyer while other people wait and can't order a car. The second piece is limits on order quantity. Even though first come first served makes total sense a dealer would be capped temporarily until all SRE orders are filled before they can order more cars. That gives the rest of the dealers across the country the opportunity to enter orders for cars they have sold to consumers. As soon as the car goes into production the first 3 months is for SRE orders then if all those cars aren't sold the process opens up for dealers to buy lot cars. If GM is planning on making 1000 cars. The first confirmed 1000 orders get produced period in the order they were received. If only 850 orders come in the remaining 150 are up for grabs. The current system favors high volume dealers not necessarily the customer. I didn't buy a ZL1 in 2015. Now I will but I don't live near a dealer with an allocation. I'm not going to move. I ended up buying a car out of state instead. It's all made more difficult when only certain dealers can order certain colors. GM decided where to place green cars and Garnet red. Isn't that up to the consumer? Just my two cents.

I spent a lot of time worrying about whether my dealer really had an allocation for the order he wrote. This single worry accounted for most of my anxiety. If I knew that my order was going to be honored I would of had a much more pleasant purchase experience. I have the most empathy for those that had a TPW pulled though. That is a difficult pill to swallow.

Wanab, Thanks for your support. I don't think a little transparency is too much to ask. How refreshing (and possibly unrealistic) would it be to get a response like "No, we don't' have an allocation, but I would be happy to call around for you to try to locate a dealer that does have one." I would sure considering getting my service and parts from a dealer like that which I felt I could trust. Recommend to my friends? You bet !!!!

ZL1 schedule change

Does anybody know when Chevrolet will be updating their TPW. I ordered 12-20 had a TPW of 04-03 now have nothing. It's getting very frustrating.

Wanab. I am in the same boat as you. I placed my order 2 days before you. I will still suffer from anxiety until our TPW 3/13 or until we get to 3300.

What exactly is the issue with changing the TPW? This has me concerned as my TPW is currently set for 3/13

Hopefully we will find something out this week. I too have had a 2/27 then the dealer pulled the order because they skipped a guy infront of me. Then I had a 3/16, then went to 2/27 again, then got pushed to 3/27 all within a few weeks and now it's on hold like everyone else. It is very frustrating.

KLR ZL1, I think we may find something out tomorrow. Maybe even get our TPW's confirmed as Monday is usually the day they assign TPW's from what I have noticed. I am wishing ALL of us the best of luck tomorrow.
