Unless something has changed recently, that "lap time" just showed up one day on some random webpage looking for web hits, along with a "6.59.xx" time for the Z06. Chevy owned up and said that was not accurate and they are not sure where the info came from.

Ford never said anything and the Fan boys locked onto it like heat sinking missiles claiming god themselves has spoken. No verification, no full video, nothing.
