"As I promised here comes the figures:

April 2016 Delivery (sales) Stats:

Camaro April 2016 Deliveries (actual sales):7,457 8% (Pr Ye) "

I think they are actually up a tick over last year's April...

The 2016 is an awesome car for sure, but as far as I'm concerned, they can sit and rot on dealer lots at these prices. Sooner or later the rebates and incentives will come.

And keep in mind, I've tried to make it clear, your profit per car are NOT higher unless you sell as many as your business case was based on. Spreading 100's of millions of dollars in tooling and many millions more in development across fewer cars than you planned for can be a BIG problem. So you can plan to make more profit per unit but you have to sell to the plan and we have no idea what that is.

GM has not said, "we planned to sell fewer Camaros in the sixth generation than we ever have". GM wants to sell a lot of Camaros, guys.

And if my eyesight is correct, this is the lowest April of Camaro sales on the chart.
I was talking more about the 15 vs 16 Camaro YTD changes trending up (+7.5) vs the Mustang (-.2) and Challenger (-1.2) trending down.

Maybe I am reading that wrong, the eye sight isn't what it used to be, but I thought I read that April 16 Camaro sales as being slightly higher than April 15.

Regardless, what you said is true, only GM knows their plan and as long as they are happy, then I am. Time will tell I guess.

That is internal to GM and we'll never know what they expected to sell, we only know what they are selling.
We do know that they chose to add content as standard that was optional in the pervious generation. We also know they raised the price ~$500 for MY 2017 and that incentives are not being offered.

I do believe that price is a limiting factor for some buyers. I also believe Chevrolet knew going into this program that a higher entry price would have an affect on sale volume. Entry price could be changed overnight with a new, lower trim level and/or incentives. If we see that, we'll know they were looking for higher volume.

Edit: looks like they just got third shift going in April to keep up with demand.

I'm sure there will be some that "sit and rot"....The fifth gen had those as well, even with that gen's pricing...And those were the cars they offered 20% off MSRP of the oldest inventory....If you can wait and be ready later when deals pop-up you'll save some serious money.

But if inventory is intentionally kept low on the 6thGens (like I believe they stated was part of the "plan") we may not see this happen like it did with the 5thGen...

I think it is interesting to see which markets have accepted the 6th generation Camaro and which markets have not. It certainly looks like that the mid west isn't a big fan of the 6th generation Camaro as most people it seems who talk about not seeing any are from that part of the country.

Here in Southern California they are all over the place already.... and they certainly look good.

Funny that they used a photo from Lansing Delta Township.

I'd like to see the line rate. ATS/CTS are selling VERRRRY badly. Add on Camaro volumes and you barely have 130,000 to 140,000 units per year. That's barely two shifts at 60 jph
.

My dad just picked up a yellow z06 from them not too long ago. I think it's a good thing they have that many on the lot, makes searching around a lot easier. In fact i'm very interested in the blue 2ss they have. I was kinda iffy on the seats and not having black wheels, but it doesn't matter until I see what the ZL1 will be running for anyways. So if its there it is, if not, oh well. There's always 2017!

I think i know him was it one of the first z06's they sold because i talked to a guy at the car show they have on gilmer rd a few times that has a yellow z....also i went up there a couple time earlier in the yr with a buddy and was just surprised at home many they had now. And im sure they will probably. Get a few zl1's so soon as they are out i'd go check the lots

Guys, didn't read the whole thread but a mostly loaded Camaro 2SS 8A Coupe was about about $44,500 for me and I was able to get a mostly loaded premium Mustang GT Coupe for about $37k with discounts here in DFW. That's a big difference.

However I am making this post because I bought the Camaro because it's a better car besides maybe visibility. But for a lot of people that price difference is pushing them towards the Stang. It's a nice ride too.

That said, I love the Camaro. Only 250 miles so far but loving it.

I bought the Mustang GT with the performance package, 6 months later I sold it and bought my 16 Canaro SS. The Camaro is far better than the mustang and I love this car more than most I have owned.

Yeah, I felt like I'd be settling with the Mustang. Again, nice car but the 8-speed is WAY better than the 6-speed auto in the Mustang and the mag ride/suspension is worlds better than the Stang. Engine, pretty sure we don't need to discuss that besides say LT1. Nuff said.

That post and picture was on a local FM radio stations site. They (like I) probably didn't know the difference. Link below.
