My rant here: You also pointed at sales of a car vs cars that have their full line up. Camaro is just getting convertibles and I4's onto the lots, watch the sales continue to rise.

After owning one for 6000 miles I made the switch over to the SS. The Mustang has too nice of manors and the Camaro is the bad boy. |

And there, once again, lies the problem. Camaro drivers dont mind. You want to attract OTHERS to become Camaro drivers.

Oh, this again?
Look, Camaro team did their homework. The majority of customers (not *just* enthusiasts) valued the style over the car over the compromised glass area. If you don't agree - sorry, you're in the minority, and that's the way the world works. If it's that big of a deal, people who complain will buy something else...but some of the loudest are not...interesting.... Bottom line is, they heard everyone...and as a result, the chopped roofline stayed, the front view is improved over 5th gen, and while the rear window is smaller to see out of...all cars now come standard with rearview camera, and if you adjust your mirrors properly there ARE. NO. BLIND. SPOTS. /the end. |

And again, Camaro buyers would STILL buy the Camaro if it had better visibility. Yet, it chases away the perspective buyers when they go drive cars in this same class. The 6th gen will still sell about 85k/year. Why dont we want to see that above 100k? |

The Camaro was not derived directly from the ATS, but rather utilizes a revised Alpha platform. Therefore, there was nothing to "ruin": it was a clean slate ( especially in terms of the roofline). If you understand how vehicle architectures work, then you know this. |

When I pull in to park, I literally back into every single space. During that parking maneuver I pull forward at about a 60 degree angle. You can not see to the passenger rear of the car. In the GTO I could easily look out that rear window and make sure there is no one walking there. Camaro you have to look out your mirror and if you have them adjusted properly there is some difficulty in seeing that passenger rear of the car. |

Not perfect though, the interior materials are not terrible but if you're one of those conquest buyers you do notice it isn't what you're used to seeing. The view out of the car is not good, it's expected and part of this kind of package, I can live with it although the overgrown gauge humps and rear shelf shape didn't need to be there and IMO should have been skipped. I get the larger design points that make the car what it is but those are egregiously form over function without being necessary to that larger design. The back seats and truck space don't have any meaning to me. IMO it's way better to have a beater utility car and a fun car than compromise your fun car and skip the utility car. If this thing had an actually useful trunk and rear seat it would be a different car with a different character. You cant have your cake and eat it too. Unless of course you put a check in the mag ride box but that's the rare exception. ![]() Anyhow I guess I said it. I test drove a C7 and a 1SS on the same day and ended up preferring the Camaro. I would have said it never happens before then and I wouldn't have even tried the Camaro if it were not for the unanimous approval of the road testers about its driving dynamics and fun factor. |
