It seems like they want everyone to finance and not lease I'm sure it's better for them in the long run.

German brands lease at about 65-70%. Chevy leases about 37%, which is among the highest among American brands. The problem I see for GM and the other American car makers is that leasing rates continue to rise. With car prices steadily rising and at a faster rate than people's ability to buy, it would be wise to push (i.e. subsidize) the leasing of vehicles.

I've done a little more looking into the RV change for GM Financial leasing. It looks like from 5/2 to 5/3 the RV changed from 68% to 57%. I still can figure any scenario in my head where somebody at GM Financial thought this would work. It effectively removes leasing as an option.

For two year leases. 3 year rates still aren't terrible.

Not very good either. I am at $575 a month on a 3yr with zero out of pocket on a fully loaded 2ss. Terrible? No, but close.

Yep I agree but compare the competition. Think the challenger is the best at like 61%. Got to remember most of the time the best cars to lease are the worst ones to buy. BMW prime example.

It's BS, it should be illegal. I take delivery tomorrow so hopefully it changed this weekend lol

I'm not taking delivery until something changes. That change in RV has to be a mistake. No way that somebody thought that would spur sales. It's a $300+ change on my 24 month payment from one day to the next.

Again, the three year lease is at 59% for 36/12k for the 1LT. Add 1% for 10k miles.

A 2SS is 58% for 36/12k.

You guys HONESTLY believe that the 24 month has a lower residual than the 36??

Who the hell is the lease through?? It is not GM Financial because they dropped their 24 month leases.

It's 57% for 24 months and 56% for 36 months. GM Financial.

Again, it makes no sense at all. Just do three years at this point.

What money factor are they quoting assuming top tier credit? It was a shame GM Financial stopped all the dealers from using 3rd party banks for leasing. I leased my 2013 2SS 1LE, it was loaded and had a 62% residual after 39 months through US Bank. The 3rd party banks use ALG to calculate their residual values and they have some sort of gap protection if the values change anyway. They get their money either way.

This is why I'm going payment saver with PenFed. They use AIG rates for it. I believe when I did the math on it a 2SS for 60 months would be 47-48% RV. Payment would be almost $100 less a month at my price point than a 3 year lease. With the benefits of ownership, it was a no brainer for me. But the program isn't for everyone's situation.
