Don't pay attention to KBB for anything other than private party.

Dealers use Black Book, which tracks national auction prices and they will not reveal anything in it to customers.

Typically black book is about 30% lower than KBB. For example, the last car I traded in had a KBB of $25,000...the dealer came in with an initial offer of $16,000...

Tacoma should’ve of won!

I love my 2nd Gen Taco. My only gripe with the new 3rd Gen is I wish it got a bit more HP/TQ and better MPG numbers.

...back to topic. Nice to see the 6th Gen Camaro win Car of the Year!

The Tacoma's only advantage over the Colorado is offroad, and "expected" reliability and resale, the last two of which aren't considered in this competition. The Colorado is better in almost every other metric. Why should the Tacoma have won?

Comgratulations fellas!

Chevy accomplished what Ford claimed they set out to do. Outstanding job.

It was..I managed to get them up to $18,500..but it still stung.

I had to get a new daily driver, so it was what it was.

Congrats to Chevrolet and Team Camaro
We had the opportunity to meet Al O and others from the Camaro Team at SEMA. A very well deserving group

Motor Trend has simply validated what most of us already knew about the 6th generation Camaro.

After visiting the MT site, I would say the BMW crowd should be more unsettled than the Mustang owners - MT put the SS ahead of BMW's beloved 3 Series.

I'm big on cosmetics and the 2016 Chevy Camaro looks way better than the Challenger although I'm a Mopar
boy and I love the way the Challenger looks.

That being said when I look at the Dodge Ram and a Silverado the RAM has way better styling to me not sure about better quality but asthetically it looks better.

Only reason I think the Colorado won was the diesel engine, I bet if the Tacoma had a Diesel it would have won.

I think I'm fine at 29k. I'll get almost all that back if I do trade. Not worried at all. Money is not the issue to me at this point. I liked what I bought and if I get a 16 it will be even better. I'm almost 64 so, livin life to the hilt. Shit I did that at 34. Hum guess I'm just having fun.

Resale and RELIABILITY. After 8 years I’m at 195k, only maintainence along with u-joint and wheel bearings since I had it.

O’ yeah another issue is the mod bug, because I must have 2.5” RR shocks for the mall.

Alright ... but how reliable is the new one? Thats something which can't be known for years down the road, certainly not something that can be evaluated by a magazine staff over a few days of testing.
