from looking at the pics and comparing them to the current model it looks like they are shortening and slightly rounding the rear, taking a slight bit off the nose area and maybe taking a little bit off in the middle parts ever so slightly to down size ever so slightly. you can tell it is a bit shorter in height. the rear glass is pushed in more; looks like it might be more slanted upwards compared to the current model. really looking forward to seeing some styling cues, can only tell so much with all that cladding. hood vents, rounding of the rear, and a general shape of the nose is all we have right now.

I want a 6thgen that looks like a 3rd gen!

If it looks anything like a 3rd gen the plan will change & there are about 6million members on a thirdgen forum that will have a hard time resisting one as well..... As for the spyshot photos, I think GM is jacking with us.... ton of padding ^ a different nose everytime they bring em out....lol

mostly it'll look like a 15/16ths 5thgen evolution.

it's lower and seems a little smaller now. One pic #5 you can compare the height of gen5 vs gen6 and gen6 is not as tall and seems a bit smaller with very evolutionary lines regardless of the different platform now.

A good place to look I think is to compare the dimensions of the ATS coupe (its longer and wider but lower then the ATS sedan) to the Camaro. I wonder if it is going to be slightly longer then the ATS coupe but similar width and height, though I think some would suggest that the 6th Generation Camaro will be a 5th generation Camaro grafted onto an ATS coupe.
ATS coupe is Length: 183.6 inches Width: 72.5 inches Height: 54.8 inches wheelbase: 109.3 inches weight: 3,418 pounds (2.0T no options) 2LS 2014 Camaro (no options lightest spec) Length: 190.6 inches Width: 75.5 inches Height: 54.2 inches wheelbase: 112.3 inches weight: 3,702 pounds My predictions 2.0T manual no options Length: 185 inches Width: 74 inches Height: 53.5 inches wheelbase: 110 inches weight: 3,550 pounds Actually I think it would make for an interesting design if they went with the Cadillac CTS 114 inch range wheelbase for the 6th generation Camaro and an overall shorter length (185 inches). this will give the car shorter over hangs front and rear. That would be essentially taking the current car and moving the wheels out a combined 7 inches. I think if they did something that extreme they could in concept place the engines completely behind the front axle (depends on if 2 extra inches would be enough to pull it off). Then they can low the engine in the engine bay further dropping the center of gravity and moving weight further back. This would give it geometry closer to a sports car. |

Moving the front axle forward two inches Would make more sense then moving the engine back two inches. Actually we dont even know if two inches will be enough. The point would be to lower the engine in the engine bay. |
