Another factor is come April there will be a 70 GTO in the garage that needs restoring from my dad. That would mean 3 personal vehicles and a company van, for just me. LOL Lot of money for 4000 miles a year. If i can find a way to not need a truck of some sort, it would be possible. Perhaps a light duty trailer for Home Depot trips and a trailer hitch for the SS!! |

Twin Cities get more snow, so you're more screwed than I am. I can phone it in on snow days if I really need to. |

If you look at comparably equipped RSs, the Canadian price is actually over $10k cheaper (CDN$) than the American price at a .76 exchange rate, which is a pretty sweet deal. I just test drove a Focus ST - it's a fast, fun little car, the RS with its additional 100 hp and sophisticated AWD will be a total blast. It may not sound or look quite as good as an SS, but it runs 4.2 to 60 on the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups it comes standard with here, so no slouch. Oh - one other thing about the RS I almost forgot - you can actually see out of it! |

The 4.7 time you are referring to is Ford's official 0-100 kph time. Right from a Ford Powerpoint on the car, up at focusrs.org - 4.4 to 60 on the Pilot SSs. A Ford engineer has also been quoted as saying that the optional Pilot SCs take .2 sec off that time. From the slide:

Those times may seem fast for a 345 hp, 3300 lb car - but that AWD lets it launch like a rocket. Also turbo - the RS torque "curve" is really a flat plateau at 347 ft-lb from about 2000-5500 rpm. Last edited by DevonK; 12-12-2015 at 11:15 PM. |

The plan is to drive my childhood dream car (my avatar name ) on the ring (just "The Tour") and rent a Clio RS for 4~6 laps. |

Gotcha. I'll be sure to ignore the nonsense in your posts the next time, since despite my repeated attempts at politely engaging you, you refuse to expound upon your previously ludicrous statement.

"2016 Camaro 2SS 1LE <-- if exists < $55K
2016 Alfa Giulia <-- ~ $65K 2016 BMW M2 <-- ~$60K 200[9-11] 911S <-- last P car with legendary hydraulic steering, < $55K with <30K mi & extended Porsche warranty " Guess which one I chose Neither. I opted for a 2012 997.2 GTS. The price differential is substantial mind you, but my God,..it is Soooo Worth it!!! Quote:

Drivingagain, having now driven one that I also own myself , I must respectfuly differ again, this time with first hand authority, on your point that "non-turbo porsches get boring quickly". Boring is definitely an antonym for 997.2 911 GTS. I can't imagine it Ever being dull. This car is a Masterpiece, both to look at and more importantly, to DRIVE!
But enough of Pcars, I still can't wait till the 1LE! QUOTE=drivingagain;8775576]This is a non tur 2016 Camaro 2SS 1LE <-- if exists < $55K 2016 Alfa Giulia <-- ~ $65K 2016 BMW M2 <-- ~$60K 200[9-11] 911S <-- last P car with legendary hydraulic steering, < $55K with <30K mi & extended Porsche warranty bo right? Yes. This is nowhere near the same level. If it was a turbo I would say go for it. To me the linear rpm of the porsche non turbos get boring quickly. There is no raw seat of your pants, feel like a teenager again left any more. Yes looking for very linear, very predictable, posh interior. I am going from imports back to muscle cars because they have become boring and blah. Sure the porsche turbo's with 500hp are awesome. Now a real fun car to drive is a 911 with a ls3 in it! I almost bought a 2000's porsche to do this. Then thought why? The new camaro will be able to handle a 427 and that is a beast! Look at the post of the guy who's brother just ran a all engine 10.4 quarter mile. That is a man's car to me! Like riding a 500 two stroke through the woods against your buddies 125. Sure he will get there and not kill himself. It will be smooth and linear too. You only live once and I will never forget my 500 two stroke. The porsche with out the ls3 in it I have long forgot and it was a 2009 porsche 911S. JMHO. Could not be worth anything to you.[/QUOTE] Last edited by juzefzoozoo; 12-21-2015 at 12:07 AM. |
