GM Reveals Twin Turbocharged LGW 3.0L V6 and 3.6L LGX V6 engines
Northstars were Cadi only.
Upon further research I stand corrected. I'll shut up now...

Thus the reason I corrected myself but thanks for re-emphasizing what I already realized. Good job

Which models used Northstar engines. I can just recall Aurora for Oldsmobile and Bonneville GXP for Pontiac. Think that was it.
Actually, not sure which GM engine an Aurora used. Didn't they have a 4.0 at some point? |

GM stopped using brand specific engines as a general rule starting in the 70's. They screwed up by putting Chevy engines in some Oldsmobiles and didn't tell customers. So instead of fixing it they just said all engines are now Corporate engines and can be used in any division.

The LGX is going to eventually take the place of the LFX in many, if not most of GM's applications. I don't understand why it wouldn't. GM strives to get every last drop of efficiency out of their powertrains these days, and so it only makes sense to use the LGX everywhere. Also, sharing the engine keeps cost down. No way the LGX is just for Cadillac. I'd also say the TT3.0 will be used in Buick in addition to Cadillac. The 3.0 avoids taxes in certain countries (China I believe we mentioned) and guess which brand is pretty popular over there? Buick. Not sure where they would use the 3.0 in the Chevrolet or GMC lineup, but nobody is going to complain about 400hp/400TQ if they do use it.

I'd love a twin turbo in something more affordable like a Chevy or Buick.. Kind of like what Ford does with the SHO.
