Well, good to hear the car behaved like it was supposed to. As long as you're teachable and you still had fun and were learning I would consider it a success. None of that stuff comes as easy as we think it's going to. But if you work for it you'll definitely continue to grow. The fifth generation Camaro definitely is a challenge to autocross, it's big, heavy, visibility is not very good, it definitely has some hurdles to overcome. But it's also a pretty stable car that puts down power well, so you'll get there.

Looking good. Where is that at? My stepson lives in Georgetown and could stop by and check things out if timing ever works out.

That was actually right next to Georgetown in Hutto at Tint World. We do the Pistons on the Square in Georgetown every month usually and the Round Rock Car Show. Tell him to come say hi sometime. We're C3 Car Club.

Well I noticed a couple months ago that I had a couple drops of oil on the garage floor and I thought oh great a darn oil leak. So fast forward a couple months later and it turned into three or four spots. So it looks like the rear main so I take it to the shop to get the rear main replaced and well it still leaks. I think it's actually coming from the rear of the pan gasket.

Does anyone agree that your supposed to use gasket sealer on the corners of the pan where it meets the rear main cover and the same for the front cover?

A couple updates. First off I had the rear main replaced and it still has a drip or two from the back of the pan. My thought are when they put the pan on they did not use any silicone on the corners of the pan where it meets the rear cover. Now I'm going to have to try and get them to replace the pan gasket with sealer this time which will probably be like pulling teeth but I'm gonna try. I could do it myself, but I don't feel like I should have to.

I did my second autocross and felt a lot more confident then the first time and did do a lot better. But I found my limitations of the car. The front definitely seems heavy because I don't know if it's the grip on the tires or what but if I take a corner too fast then it plows over the front tires when braking. I tired lowering the tire pressure a little bit but on noticed a little bit better. Now I think it's about time to hit the drag strip.

For the Auto-x, this is why I preach step 1 in the "suspension improvements" list should be a square wheel/tire setup. I mean, it's not hard to understand the understeer, it's got more grip out back than it does up front. When you equal that out, the platform gets very neutral. Then you can pick at other stuff, but that first step makes a bigger difference than any other single thing you could do to solve the understeer.

EDIT - I see the aftermarket wheels - if it's already square then rear swaybar is step 2 on the understeer. Just be careful, to get a big heavy car real neutral for auto-x is likely going to leave it pretty aggressive for higher speed corners!
