Roof line looks terrible with a sunroof. They should have only gone with a Targa Top.

What you hate others love. I see a car without a sunroof and I think....well they couldnt afford one....lol. I prefer a comb over to a reverse mohawk. I once read you pick Nav bevause its one more box to check on a trade in. Well how is a sun roof different.

i agree. To each their own.

I didnt go with one because i have had them on every vehicle and i hardly ever use it. I look at is as another thing to wear out or another thing to leak.

I plan to track my 1LE so also head room i have read was an issue with a helmet.

Depends what you plan on using your car for.

I’ve never bought a vehicle for the next owner. I went 1SS and no sunroof because I want track first and foremost, I’ve never been a gadget person, I’ve rarely if ever opened the sunroof of cars I’ve had that had one (even rarely taken t-tops out), it’s extra weight, less headroom, breaks up the lines of the car, etc.

That’s the great thing about ordering a car - one can do it however they want (within the confines of whatever GM gives us anyway). Oddly enough, though, when I see a 1LE with a sunroof I am judging them as someone who isn’t actually using their car the way it was engineered to perform

Bow Tie can you help me understand this. I have a 2SS Vert on order.

With the 2SS column is that telling us that 51 are on order nation wide in total and that they cannot be built in that period in January or we don't know how many are on order but 51 originally slotted can't be built?

Are they building 2SS's, any idea of the quantity if they are? Someone said that Camaro's are only being built only Mon thru Thursday.

Thanks !

I would love to help you, but I don't understand any of it myself, lol. I'm just sharing what I'm able to see. Someone else may be able to help decipher what it all means. Yes, I'm sure they are still building 2SS's, but probably not many. And yes, the factory only runs Monday through Thursday.

Edit: I THINK the numbers represent how many can be built that they have all available parts for. Whether that's from now through that production week, or just for that week, I don't know. Again, just guessing.

I believe the #s mean that is the amount of vehicles they will build in each row. A zero means none will be built in that package. Constraint means limitation, not complete stoppage or halt (unless otherwise noted with a zero).

I'm still totally confused by this (A1Y SS PERFORMANCE PACKAGE / WBL REDLINE EDITION). What does that even mean? 1LE package & Redline edition are two separate things. Why are they grouped together like that & not on separate lines? There is no such thing as a 1LE Redline edition

Ok, thanks! It's all clear as mud lol

My experience with my C7 is they do allocations by model , so long as they are building 2SS's then sooner or later they will get to me. The whole order and allocation process is a bit of a black hole isn't it.

I think that between those two packages, there will be 85 built. I wouldn't read anymore into it.

Thanks, that makes some sense to me. Worked in the auto industry a long time ago, was with a supplier to them and in and out of the factories a lot. Lots of friends that worked in the factories have a sense of their scheduling etc..

Typically they do group like models together down the line in some fashion so if you were going to build 2ss models they would know we have parts this week for 51 of them so we will run that many this week.

I guess in the end someone waiting for a car is looking for clues on how long before it gets to me, the constraints list tell us where there are bottlenecks but really nothing about order backlogs etc..

Sadly I'm still hoping rising interest rates take a few orders out of line in front of me, I would like my new Camaro by June. Who knows at this point. At least I already have one sitting in the garage unlike many who have cars on order.

They were not building like models together when I was at the factory in July. It was a mix of Camaros and Cadillacs, but no two were alike.

Thanks LeanardS , anything goes then.

So they do build the Cadillac on the same line as the Camaro's? I wasn't sure of that. Any idea on the meaning of some of those constraint numbers?

I'm only two hours from the Lansing plant , too bad like the 'Vette you can't pick up your car there. I did notice you picked yours up, read the back story from your California adventure, very cool !!

Decades ago I was the boss in a truck manufacturing plant. We always built like models together but we had a lot of fleet orders. I have been in a few auto plants since and had people working on their automation systems. Gathered everything was driven by the VIN at the assembly line and it would make sense to smooth that out by grouping like orders. Been retired 15 yrs, things change.

Yes, they are built on the same line. It was a random mix of Camaros and Cadillacs with no grouping of colors or models or coupe vs convertible. It appeared to be more Cadillacs than Camaros the day I was there. They are building 375 cars per day and 4 days per week.
