Its too bad the real deal didn't come out looking that nice. All of the lines are exaggerated on that sketch, and the hips are wider. This sketch looks pretty sweet.

Ford should have done it like that and it would have been awesome. If the next Camaro comes out with an attractive design with bold lines like the 5th gen I have no doubt it will hold the sales lead once again.

That's about the way it goes.

Artist's renderings start out bold. Get dialed back to make it possible to actually build the concept car in 3D sheetmetal. Dialed back again to be producible at somewhere near the desired price point.

One mans trash is another man's treasure...I was thinking about buying one until I saw it in Southern Cal. It doesn't wow me at all. I'll be waiting for the next camaro or maybe I'll drop some coin on a C7.

Too bad its bland and boring in the production version.

I agree 100% Norm. Most early sketches start off as something wild and need to be toned down before they can actually make a production vehicle, but I also feel like there isn't much, if anything about those sketches that couldn't have made production. (Aside from the huge wheels and zero wheel/fender gap) I think the 5th gen Camaro looks about as bold as those sketches of the Mustang do.
