"Why'd you buy a convertible?" (A little more positive and complimentary). Rag-top, drop top, and others seem to be simply a little more whimsical and good-natured and roll off the tongue easier...

When pressed for space, like on one's Avatar, if the owner is ok with 'vert, it's his call.

Just a thought....
Or just type Conv. It's his call whether he wants to sound sharp or not.

I haven't been on the forum much in the past 2 weeks recovering from shoulder surgery. This discussion has been one of the most entertaining ones in a while. You guys are a riot! I'll admit I never heard the term 'vert' until I joined the forum. I have a coupe so I can honestly say, I am not offended by term though I probably would never use it in mixed company (i.e. outside this great forum).

Thanks for making the should pain bearable since I cannot drive my baby for another 4 weeks.

Hope you're healing well. I had shoulder surgery a couple years ago. Rotator Cuff and Bicep Tendon. It was a long recovery. I agree, this thread has been some good banter...lol.

Yep, if you substitute "Vert" for "Rag Top", you just don't get the same country twang...
