Yes the first gen Camaro was the best one especially the ‘69!

I went with the Camaro because everywhere I look you see a damn Mustang. When I see another Camaro, we wave to each other. The Camaro is by far better looking than the Mustang.

great
love my camaro 2LT V6...perfect combination of power, fuel efficiency, looks, great driving on highway and curves and twisted roads. it is my daily driver...Owned a 2017 4 Cylinder Camaro as well... It was good, but the V6 is so awesome....I wish other people that bash the camaro could drive the one i have for a week...they would change their mind quick. great car. glad Ed Welburn brought the car back and hey that have sold over 800.000 vehicles since 2010, (5th and 6th generation)..this car has been and is succesful..

Couldn't disagree with you more. The best looking Camaro generations are Gen 1 and Gen 5, imo. Gen 3 is a close 3rd followed by Gen 6. 2nd gen Camaros will always take a backseat to the 2nd gen Trans Ams and imo, is the worst generation for Camaro.

I just took a quick look at the Mustang, and some will mistake it for a ZL1.

Like Gen 6, the refresh to Gen 5 wasn't too kind for its design, IMHO. |

Early 2nd gens are my favorite of all of them. Then gen 6, 3rd gen, 5th, 1st, and 4th.
2nd: 70-73 SS 70-73 Z28 78-81 Z28 6th: 16-22 SS 17-22 ZL1 SS/Z 1LE trims LT 1LE 3rd: 85-90 IROC 91-92 Z28 5th: 12-15 ZL1 14-15 Z28 13 Hotwheels 13-15 SS 1LE 1st: 67 SS/RS or Z28 68 SS/RS or Z28 4th: 97 SLP / SS 35th anniversary 02 40th anniversary. Red-head step children: 74-77 with the big ugly bumper 98-02 catfish 82-84 rather boring looking across the board 69 is ok, it's just so grossly overplayed, it's like Nickelback in 2002.

I'm still drawing comments on my 2010 SS. There's no doubt in anyone's mind that it's a Camaro.
I recently ordered a 2023 ZL1. Before doing that, I seriously considered Audi and Mercedes, including models with 6 figure prices, advanced engineering, and high performance. Yet in the end, I had to choose a Camaro again because it dos in fact look like a real muscle car. Now let's just hope the car actually gets built! |

For those who misread the title of the thread and came here due to love for their Camaro's butt:
Not that there's anything wrong with that... |

I have a number of camaros and Z cars over the years.
My first, a well used 1969, was a fun car to play with, got shitty millage and would beat you up after about an hours drive. At that time, I wasn't really concerned about the handling characteristics. The next was a used 280ZX (not sure of the year). Not quite the raw power of the '69, but handled well unless pushed too hard in which case it would spin almost without warning. All in all, not a bad car, put 100K miles on it, and it came with 100K on it. Next up was a used 300ZX (I think it was an '86). A nice bump in power from the 280ZX, but still with the annoying turbo lag. The ride was nicer than the 280ZX but had about the same handling. It also came with 100K miles and I put another 200K on it. My first brand new car was a 2010 camaro 2LT. Another very nice bump up in power and comfort. While it handled better than all of my previous cars, it had an annoying amount of body roll and would push like a dump truck if driven too hard into a corner. It still was a great car, and I put 230K on it before acquiring my latest ride. Got my 2022 2SS last October. All I can say about it is WOW. While not a cushy ride by any means, it is comfortable and is the only car I have ever owned that begs me to go faster through corners. Since I haven't had it during good weather much (and this winter is the coldest and snowiest we have had here in 30 years) I haven't been able to really push the handling, but I am impressed by what I've seen so far with the 8K miles I have on it. All of these cars have been daily drivers used for a 60 mile commute, all year long. I don't have any complaints about visibility or trunk room on any of these cars (come on, how much trunk space do you need to drive to work?). |

so to start love my Camaro for its performance and do think it is a beautiful car.
That being said I owned an 2016 Mustang GT it was a vert. The mustang in vert form was my favorite. When wrecked I looked from WA, OR, ID and CA and could not find a used manual in 15-17. Like the 16-18 camaro it has the best front end. I then decided to try a Camaro 2ss vert. Just didn’t like the styling. It looks like a car that had it’s top removed and then “figured out”. The Mustang looked purpose built from the ground up convertible. When I settled on Hard top the Camaro won out in styling. Didn’t hurt I found one with all the mods i was looking for on it. Loved old GM’s for ever but never a Camaro guy. The early second gen SS split bumpers have grown on me though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
