Going forward I may blend some 100 at the track, especially on hot days, if only to protect the motor vs. getting any power gains. Once you've been running pure 91, I think it take a while for the ECU to adjust the timing up to where it should be for 93, Maybe disconnecting battery helps.

I'm going to experiment with blending a gallon or 2 of e85 and 91. I test it every week as my daily runs on e30. E octane ratings are always debated, but most of the articles/calculators I have read have E15 at around 92.3+ and that is suppose to be safe for all cars manufactured after 2001. The most I'll prob go to on the stock tune is e20, but I'm going to experiment and log it once I get enough time to get my hp tuners hooked up.

Felt no difference on ltg with a 94 from Petro. If anything, my mileage got worse.
Shell's 93 is the best you can get in Mississauga/Toronto acc to me.

Interested....what is the address(es) of the Shell station in Miss that has 93. Want to add to my list of potential fill up locations. Shell's Cdn website indicates 91 is their top dog so that is not much help.

The GM manual for my car recommends to use 100+ for hot track days.

In my experience, Boostane Professional mixed with your fuel of choice is fine for daily driving, and cheaper than 98/100 or race fuel mixes.

It's this one:
2695 Credit Valley Rd, Mississauga, ON L5M 4S1
It's 2 mins away from my house, and opp to it is a petro location with 94 lol. So it's an easy comparison for me lol

Thanks for the info. If I had Shell 93 here , its a slam dunk. Only Shell 91 or Petro 94.

I went there and I can assure you that they do have Nitro V-93 available there.

So far so good, I'm running 3 gallons of E80 mixed with 91. I've it logged it few times @WOT on 90 degree plus days and 0 KR.

IMHO.... anyone with a ZL1 in a 91 octane state should buy the $225 E85 assembly and pay a credible tuner for a remote tune to E50. The LT4 is designed to run on 93 octane and this simple and inexpensive mod will create a margin of safety while also allowing you to enjoy the car as intended.

I lived in CA for 45 years and recently moved to Alabama with 93 octane fuel and I can’t explain how much better the ZL1 runs.

The car will pull a bit of timing for anyone running 91, and lose a few HP. It adjusts and still runs safe and 99% of the people driving it will NEVER drive it to the limit of noticing the difference between a few degrees of timing and a few horsepower.

Fair enough for street driving. I personally want peace of mind driving the car in 100 degree weather or on track days without guess work on additives or worrying about availability of 100 octane unleaded.

To each his / her own.

I hear you, and I agree.. the track guys will definitely want 93 for maximum consistent performance, but I think our cars adjust pretty well for us folks still stuck on this crappy 91 octane :(

My tuner is trying to convince me to let him tune the car using race gas concentrate. I would jJust need to keep a can or two in the trunk at all times.. shouldn't be too hard... buuuuut, I kind of just want to get in and go, and fill up at the pump, so will just stick with my tune on 91 :((

Sorry man, tuning for an additive doesn’t sound like a consistent or repeatable approach. Your tuning anyway, so E85 is a $235 investment, or spend a little more for a methanol injection system. Either will result in confident and repeatable performance.

E85 is the most repeatable because the ECU will utilize a 91 octane table when appropriate and adjust accordingly when ethanol is present.
