I'll drive it on the street but not all the time. Its obviously not my daily, however I do plan to drive it often and the door bar doesn't bother me too much.

Just make sure you meet NHRA rules & do the required SFI parts. Safety should be your number one priority before racing at any track.

Really cool build, I'm from the old school like your dad. Been drag racing for 50 years, built a couple pro street cars and have had a bunch of different drag cars. Keep us posted with more videos.

So far I have all SFI rated stuff. But I definitely will need an 8.50 cert cage and chute

I will, I'm building mine right now. Motor is back in the car and still haven't gotten it back on the dyno yet. Starting out with my 2300 and switching to our new 2650 before we start racing again.

So for the guys that have been following the thread from the beginning but maybe haven't watched my videos on youtube. The original plan was to go from my D1SC procharger to a F1A-94 with the bigger procharger race intercooler and port injection fuel system. After I while I decided to go turbo for various reasons so I am doing a big single turbo 88mm intake and 96mm exhaust side. I am contemplating on weather to keep the race intercooler from procharger or go to a air to water intercooler. I am having the turbo manifolds and crossover pipe custom made. Not using a kit. But honestly I think I will still come out cheaper than I paid for my procharger kit. I also went with the weapon x port injection fuel system.

Why would you want a 1000hp for a daily?

If you have to ask then you wouldn’t understand the answer.
Seriously though. I find 8-900 the sweet spot on the street. With a turbo you can request whatever amount if power you want at whatever speed so it is easy to turn it down to where you like it. Then back up when you go to the track.

Just wow.
![]() ![]() Can't wait to see the final product. I like that you're going the turbo route. I think that's the way to go for long-term mechanical longevity. I really don't like how all belt driven power adders put enormous pressure on the crank snout, and in-turn so many other components. Also the way they deliver power is much more violent and harder on the motor Also interested to see how fitment & tuning works out with the single turbo. I've heard GMs config of the dual 02 banks can cause problems. Will you be going with a standalone ecu to deal with the port injection? I know you don't like meth, but there's a reason so many guys making your power levels go that route.. I think 90% of the failures you hear about are due to user neglect & lack of attention. With the proper fail safe's it's pretty fool-proof. Plus the enormous cooling benefits. You might not even need an air to water intercooler!
