Cem-
You didn't use the new nuts included? They clearly had a locktite coating- they were taped to the top of the box. Thanks again for the info, easy swap at the track! Old rotors still good spares, no cracks to any edges. New ones felt pretty amazing. Original rotors had 14 total days on track. 1 full set of DTC 60's, 3/4 set of OE pads. 90% track use. Very impressed how long OEM components last on this car given its weight. 14 days is awesome, especially given your pace Provoste!

I know :/ ORP is like a stress test on tires and brakes. I've looked at the bottom of the car to see if I could do something to improve the factory ducting It may be beneficial to find some sort of plastic ducting (like rectangular shape) to feed more air. I do my best to avoid the ducting hoses as I ran into so many rubbing issues with them in the past

I did not, I've seen the nuts included in the box but wanted to use the OEM nuts to match with OEM bolts. They also didn't easily become loose when I was untightened them. 14 days out of the stockers is amazing for sure. My rotors after 6 events definitely look better but cracks are visible. Did you get a chance to take a look at the temp paints on the rotors?

![]() I am very surprised with his decision on moving to 1LE from a 997 but it's glad to hear that. It sounds like we made a good decision. I personally never owned a Porsche since the ones that I want (GTs) are always expensive :/ Another benefit of having these cars is with the upcoming ZL1 1LE package we can even make this car more track focused with all OEM parts in the future (like suspension kit, aero, even GM head and cam package if it ever feels like it may use more power)

My rotors look about the same as Provost's does after 5 track days and a USCA outing with DTC-60 pads 1/3 wear and 90% on the stock pads. It's time for new rotors for sure. I was wondering if you switched to the ZL1 front clip could you do some better cooling efforts? Anyone know if someone has done this yet? I've seen a couple 6th gen SS's converted to ZL1 front clips.

I am going to ask another brake question: Is the clutch fluid reservoir and the brake fluid reservoir shared/linked? Another way of putting it, do I have to worry about anything but the brake system when I flush and fill the brake system. Thank you in advance.

Both share the master cylinder reservoir.

Thanks.
My last car had a shared master cylinder and I usually did the clutch bleed at the same time but you had to watch carefully to keep the clutch line opening covered with fluid. The Camaro with these 20 inch wheels looks like you can bleed the brakes without taking off the wheels, great for the track.

I figured it would be a good idea to give some update on the new rotors.
The new rotors feel and look pretty good after two events. I have to note the last two events were definitely warmer than the first two. and here's how to OEM rotors looked after two events

![]() I think I wouldn't see those temps either if it was either Ridge, Pacific Raceways or PIR but ORP has always been the hardest on the brakes. Since it's club events with open track format I get tons of seat time on a single day at the ORP . Track layout also doesn't allow too much time to cool down the rotors. I'd say 2-3 days on other tracks is almost equal to 1 day at the ORP because of that.

Very pleased with the brakes as well after 3 days at an intermediate track with 2 4th gear straights followed by fairly slow corners and open track format. Still running everything stock except for fluids (wilwood racing dot3 for brakes). Incredible package right out of a box! PS very impressed with the tires too btw.
EDIT: Provoste you don't street DTC60s - correct? |
