Those cables go south all the time.

So is it worth going to the dealership to have Android Auto installed in on your opinion?

It depends...I only use it for Google Maps/Nav, other than that it is nothing really in my opinion.

I can't speak to Android Auto yet, but if it's anything like Apple CarPlay, it's way less clunky to navigate through than the standard MyLink menus.

What? They should have just had to connect to bcm under the hood. You sure it's not a phantom rattle, or something that was already there that you didn't notice? Not saying you don't have a rattle, just not seeing how these two can be related.

I have Note 5 (Android Auto installed of course), and MyLink software updated twice.
Still not working....
Tried different cables, both side of USB port, and no luck.
Changed phone setting ("use USB for File Transfer") and still nothing.

What happens when I plug my phone in:
- "Projection" icon on MyLink changes to "Android Auto"
- Phone's Android Auto app launches
- I click the "Android Auto" on MyLink
- Screen goes dark
- Phone keeps connecting and disconnecting to USB

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like a bad connection. Try another AA compatible phone and see if you get the same behavior. If so I'd have the dealer replace the USB ports or the myLink unit itself.

I have a note 5 also and I have trouble connecting all the time just gave up. My thoughts on Mylink is garbage, shouldnot rely on app to run you're system why do think no other manufacturers use it, sync runs flawless guess what doesn't rely on a app.

Has anyone used Waze with Android Auto on the center console? I just picked up my SS on Friday, but I've found the AA interface very clumsy, although it may be just me. I can't use my phone functions, and only get a rudimentary map program when in AA. I have factory nav, an prefer that to the AA. I have Waze and AA uploaded on my Galaxy S5. Am I missing something?

I don't think that Waze is available yet for the Android Auto. Hopefully sometime soon.

Why do you prefer the factory NAV? IMO it has terrible choice of view, color palette, and in general is clunky to me. The best part is the stored locations and directions in the DIC/HUD.

As for a rudimentary map in AA, you need to describe why you think that? It displays anything google maps will, which is worlds more than built-in NAV. Remember AA is meant to be voice driven. You won't find lots of menus/selections because they want it to be safer. Not to say there aren't annoyances, but almost everyone universally agrees AA maps are better than the built-in.

This interface requires a USB data cable. The aftermarket is flooded with USB charge-only cables. The wires in all these cables are such fine gauge it does not take much bending to cause an internal break, which is usually referred to as a "worn out" cable.
