I wanted a Camaro and went to the dealer expecting to get the 4 cyl turbo as I didn't want to spend more than that. However they had a decked out 6 cyl RS for $27k which was just about $1500 more so I got that.

I love the car. No it isn't as powerful as the V8 but it isn't a slouch either. It's faster than a lot of sports cars out there, handles like a dream, gets decent gas mileage, and it turns heads. I think it is a fantastic option for a daily driver.

I had myself sold on a 6 cyl. As they were AVAILABLE.

Because I was having issues finding the 1 SS that I really wanted.

On the way to the Dealer to close the deal on a V-6, I got thinking. IF the 2 LT V6 was parked next to a 1 SS despite the price difference, WHICH ONE would I take?

Decided to order what I wanted , suck it up and wait. Surprisingly we found EXACTLY what I wanted in a 1 SS a few hundred miles away. On it's way (hopefully) as I type this.

Had this been my daily driver the 2 LT with a six would be the smarter option. But it is not a DD, so lets celebrate with the 1 SS.

they make a v6? what's that? seriously, i think if you're asking the question in the first instance, and you have to talk yourself into the lesser car, you won't be happy. i wouldn't. i'd rather have a used ss than a new whatever they call them.

totally agree 100%. It's either V8 or nothing (in these kind of cars). No matter what bolt ons you do to a 6er it will never sound like nor be as fast as an 8. Tbh my car gets tons of attention and I always (nearly) get the "nice and it's the V8" blah blah blah. Whenever I pass a 5 or 6g on the road it's the 1st thing I look for (if it's an 8 or 6) lol. Call me douschey but I'm a car guy, and mine is my daily driver.

On another hand absolutely nothing wrong with a 6 as a 1st car, chicks car, or retirement car for someone who wants more than a boring buick or Avalon lol. Just my .02 of how myself and a bunch of the car culture looks at it. Op save your coin up a little longer and get a V8, even if it's a 1ss. You won't regret it.

Lol.. you V8 chest beater guys are amazing… And impossible for you to understand that other people have different wants or needs. I just got out of a C7 and a 13 SS/RS so I certainly know what a V-8 is like. I just don't like the way the V8 looks in a Camaro. So I got the V-6 , I can't stand the V8 cheap hood vents or the rear wing...... I'd rather mod a 335 hp V6 than go booming around town in a car I don't like. But back to your chest beating, remember you're not a man unless you own a V8! .....Or a stick, etc. etc.

Now this is funniest excuse yet lol. Why not buy a V8 and switch hiids then Einstein? Nice step up from a C7 to a V6 Camaro. When I sold my 09 Z06 last year it was bc I bought my 2012 ctsv wagon and had my cammed 13 5th gen all at the same time js. I wouldn't step down to a V6 pony car from a C7 (if you really had one).
