1) I chose the C7!!! I sold my 5th Gen SS to get it. Its more a toy/weekend driver and we have other cars for the kid and wife. If you are in the position where you can own multiple vehicles all that other stuff (room/driving comfort etc etc) doesnt matter.
2) Looks/Rarity. The Camaro still looks like the 5th in many ways. And while I am starting to see more C7s on the road you will never see as many of them as you do the camaro/mustang who share the road with their V6 brethern. Im sure ive gotten more compliments than a Camaro would garner if thats your thing. Not being ugly but its a fact the C7 will get you more attention and id bet my life savings on it so im not gonna even argue this with anyone. lol Camaro is a awesome car and im glad it is back on top of the Mustang in performance... Ive driven both. I prefer the C7 but the Camaro is a good alternative if there is something about the Vette you just cant live with though.... Last edited by flarunner; 05-17-2016 at 04:21 AM. |

Priorities changed. Having way more fun on the boat plus I can live on it when the wife kicks me out of the house for buying the Camaro (my 69th car)....

I'll preface what I'm about to say that I'm 26, not married, no kids and it isn't my daily so the "back seats" didn't matter to me.
I had a 2013 ZL1 that I road coursed very frequently. I loved the car, just minor bolts ons (around 575 rwhp), aero, brakes, cooling & suspension upgrades. It was a great car and fantastic sport touring car. However you could definitely feel its weight on the track. I started looking into C7's but for me I was having a hard time justifying the price. Well the dealership that sponsors our club was doing huge deals back in Feburary on all C7s on the lot and they ended up offering more than $4,000 for my Camaro than other places, so the numbers started to make sense. I ended up buying a 2LT Z51 M7. Every now and then I miss my Camaro but then I remind myself what I have in the garage. I absolutely love the Corvette, it has better visibility, more driver leg room and head room than my 2013 ZL1 (for reference I'm 6'2" 210lbs.). The Corvette is bone stock except for brake pads and brake lines and I'm running faster lap times than my ZL1 that had ~575 rwhp, same type of tires, same type of brake pad compound, lots of aero and suspension mods. Plus the Performance Data Recorder is freaking awesome!

Sold my 69 Z/28 so I had some play money. Went to look @ a 14 convertible and found a 16 with $8000 off MSRP. Add GM credit card cash incentive and got it for $52K . Also traded in the 16 2SS for a small hit but less tax on the C7 in Ga.
The MSRP was $62590. I could not pass this up. 7speed ( rev match ) love it and NPP exhaust. I'm 6'5" and fit really well . This car was cheaper then the 14 conv.. Man they really had some Hugh discounts on C7's in the Atlanta area .. I actually bought it on the final day of the sale.

I am late to the party. I seriously considered a C7, particularly after the '16 fixed a few of the issues of the '15. However, the '16 Camaro spoke to me. It was a bit more practical and easier to live with as a daily driver, even though it didn't need to be. I even liked that it was $20K less.
I really like the C7. I just liked the Camaro a bit more. Goodness the dogs like riding in it and they all couldn't have ridden in the 'Vette. Yes, the dogs ride in all of them. http://s26.photobucket.com/user/bord...%20More%20Dogs
