Maybe not, but in a case like this (if true), it's pretty close to black and white. If you're in there diddling with the computer, trying to get it to do things it wasn't designed to do, and afterward you are greeted by a middle finger salute from the computer, you kinda got what you asked for. With something like that, you kinda have to accept the risk. I'm all for hacking stuff to get it to do more but if you break something, it's on you!

Why did this blow up to be such a situation? Just buy new modules already and have them reprogrammed by the dealer. The pissing match seems so unnecessary. If you were modifying firmware there is a chance you created the issue. If it doesn't fix the problem after replacing the modules then go force GM to deal with it.

Here is what i can say at this time, the HMI was modded to turn off all the locks, this has been done by us and more company's, it does not talk on the Hi speed bus, so in no way interferes with the drive of a car or there will be a line of cars that cant drive past 85 MPH 100 Mi long.

Well your car is the only car that can't pass a school bus.

And btw I am an electrical engineer and live in the world you are talking about. To say you couldn't possibly have caused this is a position you can't back up.

And I'm a software engineer. And I've seen plenty of code that "can't possibly do that". But then it does.

And if you look at page 129 of the owners book this is a MRC problem not a radio problem.

Mike i respect your thinking, but when they refuse to fix the dash fit, tell me what this or bad paint have to do with software in the car, This is the real wold and the bean counters are back in charge, and we all remember how that ended last time.

So is it 80 or is it 85 MPH that the car stabilizes at when this condition occurs?

Is the MRC actually stuck in soft mode? This should be pretty obvious if you try to switch modes.

It changes modes on the DIC, but to me the car does not get any stiffer of a ride, and the steering wheel does not get stiffer, here is what happens at 80 MPH both the DIC and HUD pop up with speed limited to 85 and it will clime to 85 and no more, that's it.

Here you go a guy with a 2015 ZL1 and the car does not go over 85 MPH, so i am not the only one, and i dont know him.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=414789

If you read that tread you will see that lots of members had the same thing happen on there ZL1, and as we all know the ZL1 cam with MRC, so what are the odds that my car has a problem with MRC and not the work we did.

Guys we do know what we are doing, look back at all the work we have done on the 5th gen, this is not our first rodeo, and what we did to this car i have on lots of GM cars and trucks, with out any problems O and buy the way with all the Mylinks that we sold, if some one had a problem how long do you think it will take for them to post on a fourm.

Again, why I'm glad I changed my order to remove MRC, I was worried about nightmares just like this......

I hope they figure it out for you. The whole reason I didn't get MRC was I was worried the car would be rendered basically useless (e.g. not being able to exceed 80) if there were any malfunctions, and this was the first time MRC was being offered on a new gen camaro. After reading vette and ZL1 horror stories about MRC malfunctions totally ruining peoples' cars, I figured I'd wait until the next gen when they have all the kinks worked out.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I rented a new Ford F150 a couple of months ago (3.5 ecoboost) and it would chime and limit speed to 85mph. A little slow for Phoenix rush hour traffic! I assume because it was a truck and a rental.
