As far as the 500 being made just shows very very few will enjoy saying there car beat the Z, yet you know all gt350 guys will say there car beat it. There already doing it, even tho the Z kicked the 350tp by almost 2 sec. Yes it was a win, but I'm sure many feel the win should of been bigger then it was.
Fair enough, I get what you are saying. I just think we should look to our overlord Vin for a platitude...

Guys...I have inside news that I'm going to share with you guys. I can't give you my sources...but just know that you heard it here first!

Why did it take so long for this test to come out?? Well that explaination is easy. You see, the original testing was done at Laguna Seca...but THE Z/28 WON the test....it actually beat the GT350R by nearly a second. Amazing how fast the Z really is...even the mighty R can't keep up.

So MotorTrend knew Ford wouldn't be happy with the outcome, and had to do something to keep Ford and their advertising dollars rolling in. So they decided to test on a track with less turns and some good straights, which would clearly give the GT350R the advantage b/c of its better peak power and lighter weight. This is clearly evident by the Z keeping up with the GT350R through the first part of the course until the long back straight.

So they ran the cars at this basically unknown track, and got the results they were after.

Now you know!!!

That is a fact. My source said the 350r did a 1:32 at LS which is almost 6 sec faster then the Z28. So there is no way it only lost to the R by 1.16 sec at this track.

But, But... isn't Motor Trend a GM publication? At least thats the excuse the Ford fanboys give for the 6th gen winning COTY and the Colorado winning TOTY two years in a row....

Yes and they still say it.

Would have not been as close with any other publication. The 350r is so bad ass that even with them not trying as hard with the 350 it still beat the z28.

My sources say the difference is more like 6 seconds with a fair shake and a non ringer z28.

Cmon guys get it right...lmao

I want to see the 2016 camaro ss with MRC and npp run a gt350 non r model..

That would be a cool shoutout and throw in a hellcat challenger as well.

That would make for a good track test...$40 grand camaro ss, $50 grand gt350 and $60 grand hellcat all on a road course...and a drag strip

As far as the two seat gt350R? I'd suggest since it's a two seater it run against a 79 grand c7 z06....

+1. I miss Johnny Lieberman. Jason Cammisa is just too hyper active with absolutely zero class. Makes me cringe as I watch. Really dumbs down Motor Trend's otherwise quality media.

Got to respect the GT350R.
Time will tell how durable this new 5.2L FPC engine is? I'd be nervous buying this new engine...just because it's not proven...hey, it might be bullet proof??
I did read that Ford is going to release 5.2L parts for people to build there own Voodoo...no whole motors.
I love GM Performance, and their awesome crate motor program.

I'm actually impressed the Zeta Gen5 Z/28 was so close.
Although the GT350R pulled harder on the Z/28 in the 1/4 then I thought it would.
Great win Ford...really beautiful car!

Everything wanting with the Z/28 will be fixed on the Gen6. I'm sure the Gen6 alpha platform Z/28 will be absolutely amazing!
