Ecoboost PP was slower than a freaking GTI all while having 2.2 less pounds per horsepower. What a joke.

The current GTIs are no joke in grip and handling, but still I don't understand how the EB PP is slower. Even the 2011 V6 PP did better on the old track version.

lol @ "was the GT a PP car" ?!?!? Mustang totally would've won in every category ever if it was a PP car. Like seriously you guys you add the performance pack, mustang GT gains 689 horsepower, racing slicks, a full cage, AWD, DCT, and weighs 1347 lbs less. Obviously car and driver is biased towards GM. Test results can't be trusted.

Someone says that if the 1LE did that good then the 16 camaro will be in good company and thePoop responds with this:

"Oh trust me... the base 1SS WILL NOT be that fast...

You will need MRC, Black Track Wheels and maybe the Dearership Brake Package. NPP will be desired and manual Recaro's still MIA.

Things your missing for $37,300+$1600+$800+(Brake Pack and NPP) is the 285's all around, Recaro's and the enormous 14.5 inch rotors.

Don't assume for a second the base 1SS has a chance against the 1LE..."

Black Track wheels...lmao

but I thought they were for garbage trucks!

He misses the real point though, all the '16 1SS needs to do is show up to beat the GT PP with it's lackluster performance this year.

He isn't missing the point. He is running from it. He is trying to cover it up. I think a lot of M6G members just got a reality check with the lightning lap results.

And to top it off.. It was a PP car. Goes to show that even he thinks it doesn't perform well when he asks a question like that.

Everyone knows that black wheels offer superior track performance over non-black wheels. The paint absorbs more sunlight, heating up the rubber and the air in the tires quicker, creating superior handling and braking. Not to mention the appearance alone adds 52 horsepower. It's true, that's why I painted the hubcaps on my cobalt black. I reduced my ET in the quarter by 11 seconds with that one simple mod.

Based on reviews of the current mustang I am of the opiolnion that the performance pack car is too soft and it is hurting the Carson track performance. I guess that is why they call it the performance pack and not track pack.

Though it I k that ford is in a great place to offer a track pack gt with some gt350 bits added on for good measure.

Notice how he didn't say "Don't assume for a second the base 1SS has a chance against the _________ [fill in the blank with your favorite Mustang]"

I honestly believe the performance of the 2016s in every form all the way up to ZXX are going to shock(in a good way) a lot of people.

I dont want to count my chickens yet, but the SS is going to murder any Mustang GT they make. Now, the real question; is the beating the SS is going to give the Mustang worth the extra price. My vote is yes, but I am biased haha.

I was a bit put off by the price until I realized that this car might not be a mustang competitor anymore. It seems as if it will be in a whole other class above. Agreed on not counting chickens yet. We will find out soon enough.

That's what I've been saying too. Performance/price ratio is changing. The question being, will the improvement in performance worth the extra money. The Mustang will still offer the cheapest all around performance because the RT cars don't do anything better than the GT.
