Once a year or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Every 5K. In the old days of straight dino oil I was a 3K guy right to the core, but the new synthetics are enough better to make 5K with no problems.

When I feel like it, or when it gets dirty looking.
I don't pay attention to miles. |

Changing oil sooner and often will keep the inside cleaner, but does not do much in making it last longer. Changing more often will never hurt it. |

I have a question that I couldn't really find for some reason. I just bought my 2013 SS and had a question about the oil. I understand that the car came from the factory with a break-in oil? I read the manual and it does say that a synthetic blend is recommended for the car. I haven't driven the car much but when I do happen to run low on oil should I just put in a synthetic blend of a different brand? I hear that the car comes with mobile 1 but I could not find a synthetic BLEND other than high mileage which this car is not.
So when it comes time to put in a little bit of oil to top her off properly which oil do should I go with? I know Castrol has this http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=186722_0_0_ but then again it isn't mobil 1.
