That rear quarter does not look like it could have been made by that die that was "Leaked" earlier this year. At least not to me.

It's hard to tell b/c of the reflection on the panel below the window, but it does like the email pic shows a smaller gap between window and panel.

I'm really liking that character line that runs along the fender and door to the bottom of the quarter window. I hope it's not just highlighted by the shadowing.

Could be the reflections and the different angles playing tricks on the eye... Hard to really tell

I see that rear glass lifting up with the trunk lid. Why else would there be that weird body panel line upward above the left tip of the spoiler in the todays picture.

Perhaps the die was for an earlier design possibility and not the final design.

That's what I said when it was posted but I was quickly told that it was too expensive to create to have different versions...

I guess I'm not the only one who thought 'stingray' when I saw the hood. The angle and lens probably screws with the proportions quite a bit. And I like the wing spoiler too, more-so than duckbill type on the 5th gen.

Such as on the 5th gen. I believe the SS spoiler cut the drag coefficient from 0.35 to 0.34

I think he was thinking of the Charger Daytona/Plymouth Superbird wing, instead the small wing on the back of the modern Charger. Maybe not though

Never happened to me. Though I don't swim in the ocean very much. Very few hide in the beach sand on the shores of the Lake Ontario or Lake Erie.

I'll agree on the Corvette being a little too busy. But not on the new Malibu or Impala.

Nope. That is a production die. That would be a butt load of money, a few million, to just check it out. Prototype panels are made with kirksite dies which are much cheaper.

Keep in mind the die appears to be tipped and is not in car position so the space between the fender feature and rear quarter window looks bigger in th picture of the die. In the actual car that appears shorter.

If you were to take this rear glass and add water management channels and a seal flange you would have a rear "porthole" about 2 feet wide, which would also make a very poor hatch for pass through.

Don't see a hatch happening.

I'm sure GM lighted the profile picture, or edited it, to keep some features hidden. Lighting can really change the way a picture looks.
