If you had the A10 I think you would have a different opinion on that.

ZL1 will make you giggle in the turns like a school girl at a Backstreet Boys Concert. Hellcat can't do that, Hellcat feels like wrestling with a bear in the turns.
You pretty much nailed it right there... and one of my reasons for going 1LE and ditching the straight line stuff.

Agreed! And who says Chevy is so far behind the competition? In marketing maybe, but as an all around performance car it's no contest. Camaros are among the best driving cars on the planet for the money and punch way above their weight class.

But I think that goes largely unappreciated. But also visibility and a somewhat cramped interior hold it back a bit. But behind the competition? Silly.

There is no fun car I would rather own at any price, except a second M6 ZL1 for when I feel like shifting.

Plus, the Demon is no longer being made from the sound of it. Seems like it was a one time run of 3300 cars, so should it even be considered in any production car comparisons? Yes, it was factory produced, but it's no longer in production. You can make arguments both ways. The Redeye is basically a Demon without the factory drag radials and crate, and I've never heard any mention of limited production, so that's the real competition from Dodge now. I'm looking forward to its results. I'm sure it'll under deliver as well, based on Dodge's recent track record. At least until you slap drag radials on it, with awesome track prep, and lots of practice driving the car.

If a ZL1 is quicker 0-30 and 0-60, what your saying doesn't make sense. Also how can a car weighing 600 lbs more feel better in the stop light to stop light wars?? doesn't make sense..

It's a manual transmission he has. If he had A10, he wouldn't be saying that. Just take a girl for a ride in your car that drives a SUV normally or a slow car and the neck snap is real.

Correct, the Redeye will not have production limitations. I think Dodge advertised it running 10.8

800 hp /700 tq on puny 275 tires will be interesting

Indeed. However, I think most folks opting for Redeye will get the widebody which has 305s.

Definitely far behind in anything and in fact leading by a long shot in most areas which is why those discussions don't even happen anymore. Pretty happy with what they've done in the performance area. Most of us in this forum don't need marketing and sales. We already know.

More power under the hood and less bog... The Hellcat is a fun car around town for sure.

If history is any lesson, Dodge will have yet another nonrepeatable hero run with - DA and $3-$4k in track prep.

Both of my cars are manual transmissions. I can not speak to what an automatic ZL1 drives like. BUT, if the automatic zl1 still has that bog built into the throttle then the difference in weight between the two cars is irrelevant when feeling the acceleration. I have 305 nt 555r Nittos on my Hellcat, the loss of traction during the launch is no longer an issue. The car squats and explodes of the line, it’s incredible.

Like I said, I don’t know what an automatic Zl1 feels like, I do know what an automatic Hellcat feels like from riding in a friend’s car. The automatic Hellcat feels more powerful and accelerated harder than the manual (because of the quicker shifts).

Unless the automatic zl1 has that throttle bog removed, there is no way it accelerates harder than an automatic Hellcat.

Most people don’t know that Dodge purposely underrated the horsepower on the original Hellcats. The true power in stock form is closer to 740 (sometimes a smidge more). The original cars are not 707 hp, that helps hide their weight even further.

None of the Hellcats are 707 hp, not just the original 2015s. They dyno in the 640-670 area, which is what the new ZR1, which is rated at 755 hp, puts down on the dyno.

Though the hellcats may be a bit underrated from the factory, from what I've seen, the ZL1 matches it in 1/4 mph. The hellcat feels raw in nature compared to the Camaro, but doesn't mean that the ZL1 just creeps off the line. When launched properly, the Camaro will be door to door with the Hellcat. The big cat is a formidable beast for sure, but the Camaro has what it takes to get in the ring and go toe to toe with the kitty.

Agreed, they're close enough stock vs stock that it comes down to driver. All else being equal, it depends on who was driving more prior to the runs and who's engine is hotter lol.

Now modded vs modded, they start to separate.
