I shop for auto and homeowners insurance every few years. This year I switched to American Family Insurance through Costco and it was by far cheaper than any other company. Everyones rate will vary due to age, driving record, location etc. So my rate may be not be the same as yours.

Further, lots of places like State Farm will only do a 6 month insurance quote. The places that are willing to do 12 month quotes tend to be cheaper on average. That's a big factor when considering both the monthly payment and possible deductible options. I know SF doesn't do anything below a $500 deductible but I wont even bother with a company that doesn't offer at least a $250 one.

I checked online with Hagerty for rates on my ZL1. State Farm is $1100 for 6 months. Hagerty is $1260 for a year for better coverage.

As with everything insurance prices have risen! :(
My wife and I used to have Farmers but this last year they have gone crazy with their prices. We shopped around and ended up with Progressive for our 24 2SS Camaro and a 21 XSE Camry with full coverage for both. Traded in a 21 CrewMax and insurance was cheaper for the new Camaro than the Tundra. I do not drive much anymore just because I don’t go many places. Hoping things will change next year and things will get back to normal!! Progressive was the cheapest for the exact same policies as we had with Farmers. Went with an SS because insurance for a ZL1 was crazy. We will build the SS keeping it NA and stay away from the high premiums still having a pretty stout Camaro. Not in any hurry though the SS came loaded and it is right fun to drive the way it is! |

I had State Farm long ago before Geico, but they got expensive (no tickets/accidents, just the usual rate hikes). Geico was significantly cheaper at the time... I shop around maybe once a year just to see but it was never worth switching to anyone else, until a few weeks ago... Geico rep mentioned when cancelling the policies that he assumed it was State Farm, as they had been getting more aggressive as of late... So must be a lot of people switching over again recently. |

For the ones here that don't daily drive their Camaro, I recommend that you contact Hagarty Insurance for a quote. I got an online quote from them for my 2023 ZL1 several days ago. The online quote was $1260 per year. State farm is $1100 every 6 months. I called Hagarty today and was quoted right at $760 per year as a collector car. I told them I would probably put 2500-3000 miles a year on the car. I don't know if that includes a multi vehicle discount or not since I have my 68 muscle car insured through them. After getting off the phone with Hagarty I called and cancelled State Farm and went with Hagarty.
