I still enjoy the old adage, "There is no substitute for cubic inches."

Let us hope you are right because that would truly be an awesome automobile. Quote:
If it is the sound of the cubic inches there are technologies that can make a 4 cylinder sound just like V8. I heard a Solstice with this technology and it sounded just like a V8. Now my argument is that it wasn't "authentic". It was fake.....FAKE I say.

All I know is....if they can't get the T4/V6 in the low to mid 3,4xx lb range, and the SS in the mid to high 3,5xx range I'm going to be disappointed.
I'm just worried that if they go with the Alpha long wheel base version that the new CTS rides on, it could be difficult. Its still not as bad as Zeta though. I think a pretty loaded 2014 CTS with the magnetic ride is in the 3,600 range.

You`re close, it`s actually "There's no replacement for displacement". Either one get`s the point across. At one time that was the conventional reasoning, now it`s give me a turbo and some NOS to spool it up, just ask any of the import boys running 4 bangers how that works out.

I really don't have an issue with turbo 4's when used in the proper application, I even own one. The problem I have with them, is it's difficult to talk crap in the bar with your buddies bragging about your T4. You may as well brag and talk crap about Ballroom Dancing ...

Come on out with the Turbo 4 Cyl but leave me the choice of selecting a 6 or a 8 Cyl if I want one .
I want the best of both worlds.... |

I haven't heard anything regarding the 6th gen in a while but it now appears the powertrain lineup may end up being more similar to the 5th gen's than we originally thought.

Well Norm. This-- Glen-e says "It's not all of a sudden in 2025, you'll have a 4 cyl in 5 years in the camaro....or less....v8s will be gone soon too.....just watch....."
He's not the only one, so someone kind of is asking Camaro drivers to be that kind. 54 mpg? If they can take my SS, why would I think they won't force a hybrid gas sipping grocery getter on me?

Say what you will about the joys of a 4 cylinder 270-290 HP engine. How wonderful it is in a lighter car, how great the gas mileage is... I used to own a V6 and I loved it and modded it-- so I'm not chest banging the SS. What I WANT is the Z/28 or if its out of reach ZL1.
If they are getting rid of V8's, GM has lost my business. I get to say what I buy, (except for healthcare, but that's another story). So unless they pass legislation Forcing consumers to buy new 4 cylinder Camaro's I won't buy one. Or any GM car. If (big if, because I'm not convinced we will see 3200 lbs). But if that happens I will STILL prefer the V8 LT1 in a 3200 lb. car than a 4 banger. Turbo or not.

I will pass on a 4 banger part of owning these cars is the sound those big engines make. If I just wanted a fast 4 banger I would get a wrx or evo.
