I really wish that was the case. I've had zero time to do anything. Was off work for two weeks straight, just waiting on a car and posting here... then the car shows up and it's time to go back to work again...

Also, had a bathroom re-model done, so I'm stuck with all the painting and surprise guests are showing up this Sunday for a couple days.

I am, however, daily driving this beast to work now getting some miles on. Almost to 400 now. Started my 2nd tank of gas.

I guess the only thing worse than knowing your car is built but you can't have it because it is stuck in shipping limbo is to not know when your car will be built - I'm sorry to see so many hoping for that 3/27 TPW got bumped.

You can hang out here to keep your excitement up, and hopefully you will get a new (and fun) home thread soon!

Sorry to see cars still stuck in shipping. Hopefully all those cars make it their owners soon. I will tell you that with about 400 miles on the car it's well worth the wait. There really is nothing to complain about. I've tried to be critical and still nothing. Highway driving, stop and go traffic, back roads, rain, dry, anything. It's great all the way around. I've always been a manual person and I was talked into or convinced to wait for the A10. I thought it might have been a mistake, but not a chance. This transmission is a thing of genius and it's integration into the entire ZL1 is brilliant. Way to go GM. I just wish the weather would stabilize and stay warm so I could drive more. Trust me everyone, it's well worth the wait.

Hate to rain on the parade here, but a moment of thought and prayer for one of our own is needed. This is one of the saddest, heartbreaking things I've ever heard.

What a horrible tragedy, my heart goes out to BigChiefs1 and his family.

It does make all the griping about shipping delays, etc. seem petty and inane by comparison.

And this isn't intended to be insensitive, so I hope it doesn't come across that way - but I feel that things like this underscore the need to enjoy the time you have and spend time doing the things you love to do - even if that is as simple as obsessing over a car. Some people have posted that this makes getting these cars and belonging to these clubs so unimportant, but I disagree. Hearing about a tragedy like this certainly encourages you to think about and appreciate the things that should be most important in your life - family and friends - but it should also remind us that life can be short and we should enjoy it while we can.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a week before my 51st birthday, a little less than a year and a half ago. My prognosis is excellent - I had a successful lumpectomy (complete removal, no spread), and went through radiation and chemo as preventative measures against a recurrence. Going through something like that changes your perspective a bit - you appreciate family and friends more - but we have also decided to stop dreaming about certain things and just do it. We have always been relatively frugal (before this, my 2010 2LT was the biggest splurge we had ever considered!), but we have always dreamed of owning a car like this and we can afford it - so we didn't see any reason not to go crazy just this once. I have gotten so much enjoyment out of my '10 - not just driving it (I'm still crazy about that car!), but the friends I have made through owning it and the events I have enjoyed participating in with it. I won't ever put my cars before my family, but having them makes my life more enjoyable, and I think that's important, too.

I don't have children, but that does not mean I am not sympathetic to BigChiefs1's loss - I cried my eyes out reading his story. I know things are going to be very tough for him for a long time and he will never "get over" the loss of his beautiful child, but I wish him some peace in the future and hope he is able to find some joy in life - no matter what form that takes.
