This has been my experience as well. Having said that, I’ve driven my 1LE on snow with the stock tires. Was it fun, not at all, but it was doable. If I can do it with wide 1LE tires the OP should be able to do it with narrower LT1 tires.

Shortly after that experience I swapped out to all seasons. I lost some performance when it’s warm and dry, but gained quite a bit when it’s cold and/or wet.

I live in Pa. I'm in my second Camaro, that's my daily driver. I've driven many times in the snow without any real issues. You just cant drive like an idiot. I'm old and was taught to drive in the snow, in a rear wheel drive car, by my mother who grew up in Mass. My only recommendation is to get rid of the run flats, they're terrible in the rain and they really suck in the snow! I just switched to an all season radial, the ride is 50% better and the handling in the rain is night and day. Just keep in mind it's a softer tire, so spirited cornering should be done with caution, until you feel the new tires out.

Since you actually tried this, I'm guessing you are a professional bull rider who enjoys cliff diving and blindfolded lawn darts in your spare time?

As a friendly FYI… this thread is “How does the LT1 do in the snow with all seasons?” ….Not how does the SS do in the snow with summer run flats?

The stock LT1 comes with all seasons that are run flats.

We've had a lot of ice in the last few weeks, freezing rain, impacted snow, etc. Even with studded tires, with such a light rear end, accelerating can be a real *****, the rear end is trying to throw out everywhere, TC and SC is kicking in all over the place to keep the rear end straight, but it can take forever to accelerate to any significant road speed if on a slight uphill. The good thing is that my braking and handling significantly outperform my ability to accelerate, which is kind of a safety factor, vs. an AWD car where you can easily accelerate past your ability to stop/turn. Still, this is far from optimal and I just get a few miles on it in the winter with this setup. I can drive it in most conditions, just that it's not very much fun and at worst you are holding up traffic while you attempt to spin your wheels on ice starting uphill. More weight in the rear would help, but that's basically the biggest issue, not enough weight over the drive wheels.

My 2016 2LT 2.0T absolutely sucked in adverse conditions (rain, snow, ice). My 2017 SS convertible has no such issues, which I am guessing is from the extra weight of the V8 and the convertible bracing.

Not an LT1 but drove my V6 in the snow on my way back from Vegas a few days ago. Just kept it slow and steady. Running 275/35R20 all seasons. Was manageable but not ideal. Stayed in the slow lane until the skies opened up and the roads became dry. Kept speed about 60mph until that point. Would definitely not want to daily drive in this as the car fishtails ever so slightly on turns.

Some all-seasons are better than others in the snow.

Michelin PS4S are NOT all-season and will BARELY function in SNOW. Got caught out in the snow on freak early November snow storm.

Example:

Real snow tires: Blizzak LM-32

That's why they are rated as a high-performance summer tire.

Thanks for guidance!
Looks like I'll be fine with the stock 245 all seasons if I take it easy.
Happy New Year Ya'll!
appreciate the help and quick advice from the 6 gen community.

Looks like warm pavement, so it's just water on the road.

Tonight was freezing rain all the way back in from my fat bike ride, glad my stinger has the studded tires. More than one car in the ditch on the way back. Ice is no joke.

Mine could barely go up a 20 degree incline on factory tires when there was just a couple inches of snow. Couldn't even get up the tiny hill on my street and had to park in an apartment building lot. It was very stressful trying to avoid hills to and from work. Not worth it if you have a backup vehicle.

Luckily I live in southern Missouri and snow happens about three times per winter these days...

Pulling the dumb new guy card here. What are the stock tire on my 2021 3LT RS supposed to be? It looks like I have 20" rims....
