Agreed, was just reading about that after posted. A tune of some sorts will happen sooner than later.

Just read through… issues with new(used) cars can be so stressful. Glad it seems like you’ve got it all figured out! I’ll also go with you and bet that the dealer put 87 in that car.

Yep always stressful because you never know. It was honestly the last thing I excepted buying this car... Fairly new, previous owner was older fella, dealership "checked it out" (which I know doesn't necessarily mean anything), only an intake and fairly low miles.

Ironically on my test drive with the salesman, he mentioned the car could use some flogging as he seriously doubts the PO really drove the car hard, ever. I truly believe he was just being honest with me and know of any issues, was really the best salesman experience I ever had. Not pushy, talked anything up, etc. I hee-hawed on the car for a week too before putting a deposit down, was paranoid about potential oil pump issues. At the price, I was kind of shocked no one else scooped it up before me because ones at actually decent prices didn't last long anywhere.

Fill it up yesterday and this time added a bottle of Seafoam this time to be thorough.

The past 250ish miles was, by far, the best the car has acted over the previous 2k miles. Guessing the plugs had some build up on them due to old gas. Probably safe to say the old gas probably gummed up fuel system some too.

The K&N intake didn't necessarily have anything to do with how car was acting, but the MAF flange on it definitely is NOT designed to properly mount a ZL1 MAF. The car definitely is pulling more vacuum at idle than it was with the K&N. The main thing I noticed with the CAI CAI is during normal, steady speed driving the stock boost gauge doesn't fluctuate near as much as it did with the K&N.

I still plan to change the plugs soon, but being in the 100s I may just pull a couple and inspect. If look funky, I'll replace otherwise I'll wait till it cools off around here to change them.

Thanks again for all the advice. The ZL1 already is the best car I've owned, even more so than the SLC since I can daily it (and do). Already making plans to order one whenever GM decides to discontinue the Camaro (again).
