Not really.. they offered the car with the Cup2 for those that intended to track the cars. You were never forced to get the Cup2 as part of a package. The car came with PSS. Then you could upgrade to Forged wheels with PSS. Finally, forged wheels with Cup2. The swap to Cup2's was well worth the $600 for me when I bought my RS. I used that car at the track often.

I also mentioned that the GT PP2 came last in Best Drivers Car 2018. They were really disappointed by it.

Apart from the 350/350R the sixth gen Mustangs are horrid track cars. According to MT the GP PP2 is a pretty bad street car as well.
