This was with a Diablo, maybe a Range is different.
I follow the instructions from Range, they say to turn on before starting, let the light shut off (few seconds), once light if off, start car, the light will flash for a few seconds, then once LED is solid on the Range, OK to put in D/R to drive off. Only had 1 or 2 CELs if I go to fast and I am impatient.

I did not comment to the post about the switch because if you don't get it than you don't get it. You get it. I did not want to damage the OBD II Port plugging and unplugging. Anyway, from experience, I turned mine on and off several times with no CEL but I have a code reader that would clear it if it should come on.

As to the comment about AFM cutting in and out that did not actually bother me. I would prefer not having the Range unit but I am trying to possibly avoid the shuttering issue from returning. Some on here and the Corvette Forum seen to think the AFM causes the TC problem in the A8. Who knows? Fortunately when I bought my Camaro I purchased the GMEPP extended warranty from a Corvette forum vendor. Anyone buying a GM product and plan on keeping it long term should purchase an extended warranty.
