I'm sub 800 rwhp and just recently got the toyos, wouldn't look back. They hook and go, I'm 100% happy.

I ordered the R888R 315/30/20 for the rear and 285/30/20 for the front. Going to see how they compare to the Good Years on the track and move on forward from there, i just don't want to pay for MPSS at the moment.
Very interested in hearing your thoughts on the GY / R888 comparison on the track.

I don't drag. Just needed a good tire to roll race on from a 40. I guess technically it's the same thing cus 40 rolls come on hard once the meth comes on. Unfortunately, since tx2k was here, I was limited on wait time. I had a $5k race lined up with a Gixxer 1000 that I had already gapped earlier in the week on the Goodyears, but i blew those Goodyears away during the week. I had to go with literally the best grip tire that was in Houston. I could of waited a few days yea, no big deal. But, $ talks, BS walks. The funny thing is, guy never showed so. Ya'll morons in here act like I can't just turn around and buy whatever set I want on Tuesday. haha.

Let's listen class. NOBODY had any R888R' or M/T's in stock. Had a money race lined up. The Nitto's were the best tire available. See, not that hard to follow guys.

With the 6th gen or any other car at over 3600 generally have a lot of issues getting greasy once heated up. Not a track tire. They're just really nice for great road feel because of how stiff the sidewall is. They're real sticky too so good for high speed stuff combined. But actual track racing, not going to be a good fit for any serious lapping. Might be better than a real street compound, but compared to other R comps, not good on the track. I would go for a Trofeo R personally right now or just a hoosier depending on the track.

This is correct for the most part. If you’re a hardcore tracker and you want a track only tire, there’s better. Hoosier and Trofeos among others. But if you don’t want a track tire only and don’t push your car to the limits, then go with an R888R.

I would say r888's are good for street power applications

Michelin's are good for people who want to do track stuff (corners) and drive home

Trofeo R's were super impressive. Similar to r888 grip on the street and insane on the track. But they don't last too long

I'm sold. While I still like the compromise NT555Rs, they are only available as 20x35x305 which are too tall for the fronts, so Stabilitrac most likely complain. They rub on the SS so you have to move the connector.

So my plan after reading this thread is to go with 20x30x315 R888Rs when I start moving away from stock. Thanks for the good info!
