I can't see how the ZL1 will not win every segment of this head 2 head, it has a huge advantage in hp/tq, and most likely equal handling abilities of the GT350R. Any segment not won by the ZL1 would have to be considered a major disappointment.

It's a marketing thing. Some companies like to push the times others don't. I think almost all companies test there but some just don't put a emphasis on the times.

The ZL1 should easily take every measurable metric. It should post a better lap time as well quite easily. The only way I see the 350R winning is if they say its easier to push to its limits, its more fun to drive etc etc.

I still dont think the Head 2 head will be aired today. When Randy posted it on Facebook it sounded like he was going to start filming it so to me this will come out next month. Maybe I'm wrong?

ZL1 is not as track dedicated as the GT350R. That's what the ZL1 1LE is for.

I went and looked at them, but don't recall...when the Ford dealers mentioned both had ADM, I really didn't go ny further.

Just assumed both were comparable to the ZL1 & 1Le version.
Cdn. prices in the GTA... FYI

Looking back it generally takes 12 weeks from filming to air, we are in for a long wait.

Gt350r should be able to handle a heavy supercharged grand touring car with 100 lbs slapped on the nose.

And what about the tire thing the furd crew always cries about ? I would guess the 350r has better tires than zl1 every day driver tires.

The 350r has every single advantage besides hp.

The excuses are already flowing lol

This is a track focused purpose built car without even a back seat vs a grand touring car. It should be a good match up.

IMO, if the ZL1 can hang with the GT350R at the track and the Hellcat at the strip...in grand touring style, Winner. I expect it to beat the R but doesn't really need to.

If it just "hangs" with the 350R IMO that would be a big fail for GM, I think just about everyone expects to put up the better stat line as far as measurables go, including lap time. I guess the only outlier could be if they were on a very tight technical track

I think the ZL1 will eat the GT350R for lunch and spit it out and this is from a big GT350 fan and owner...

All objective testing done so far shows the ZL1 to be faster...

PS: i have a zl1 on order so may be biased...

Yep hasn't come out today so we are in for a long wait. At least we can all talk about it until then.

How many seconds faster around the track would the ZL1 need to go to be considered "eating the GT350R for lunch and spitting it out"? 5 seconds?

depends on track length...
any which way, the GT350 will win in the engine sound department
