Either way, I hope they ran like 2 cans of seafoam at least through that thing if they didn't bother taking anything apart to clean. Talk about valve covers caked, spark plugs fouled, cats fouled, O2 sensors etc. It may not be bad now, but burning oil like that just threw off your scheduled maintenance, for sure (if it got sucked into the intake).
he has 100k warranty..... enjoy the car!

I agree and if it throws a code sometime later, the dealer will claim it is unrelated to the oil change/overfill.

Granted the OP has a 100k warranty but you also have to factor in the hassle factor for dealing with this.

I know I said it before...but I've got to repeat it:

KEEP. YOUR. PAPERWORK.

Otherwise, enjoy the hell out of it!

Yeah, they told me yesterday they already closed the ticket therefore didn't have a print out for me with a work summary. Seems a little fishy but I'm still pushing them to get it.

Yup, fishy.......the repair order writer program every chev dealer uses has got print out history for every warranty operation code. Totally printable at any time. They need this for the annual audit that GM does on every dealership.

Get that report...Because this is the only proof you have that they bumblef**k'd the original oil change. If something happens down the line, although warranty should cover it, you could be blamed for having an improper oil change.

Contact the district manager for GM or call GM if they don't provide you the paperwork!
Then report the dealership to the BBB.

The district manager of GM doesn't have it, it resides in their dealer computers until they submit the warranty. In this case they may not be submitting warranty at all, and eating the whole thing. They don't want to give it to you because they know you might use it in a legal situation .

In the BBB is a joke…dealers can dismiss/justify many of the entries

Your best bet is the face-to-face the general manager or the general service manager. They know they have to give it to you.

well now you have my attention... "oh it is closed already, so I can't print it..." reallly? I'm sure they didn't want to document what happened so that explains the "unable to print" BS

keep on em, good luck

Stopped by after work and was able to get it. I'm a GM employee, which they already knew, and after a little persistence got them to print a copy off for me. Everything appears to be detailed correctly on it. Just an overall strange situation to me, I've never not had the dealership hand me the work order automatically after picking my car up.

That is VERY strange. Never had a dealer OF ANY BRAND ever do that, before computers or after! That's fishy as hell. Hope it all works out well for you.
