I'm just relieved that nobody is over-reacting or being irrational

I can understand if you currently don't have a car and are renting or something while you wait, but I don't think thats the case for most here.

Your order will be filled, there could be any number of problems that need to be corrected. Everyone is better off if it takes a little bit longer and everything is done right.

Al, What's the problem? Is there a problem? I have seen that you have your silver ZL1 A10 Convertible, what about us?

Hear him say it. Check out the link at about 5:16 min. in the youtube.
I'll answer your questions.

0) All orders will be fulfilled. Maybe not on your timeline but they will get there. Not the 1st rodeo like this.

1) ZL1s have been on the street since Oct, this is nothing like the QC hold in 2012.

2) Al O did not mis-speak. They will build them and they are on the lots now. There are always bottle necks in the beginning when the demand is high for the newest item.

3) No, there is not a problem. Schedules are being re-arranged to accommodate 2 shifts vs 3 shifts. I've addressed that in a previous post.

4) There are many A10 cars and verts out there. CTF cars must have a pre-determined number of miles on them before they are ready for production.

Last week, I had already decided to bail out on my order when my December order was scheduled for 3/27 build.

Normally, that would be perfect for the North East, but I planned this manly as a car to race since I have other DD transportation options.

A March build with an April or even possibly May delivery, with time for Xpel, suspension tuning, new wheels and tires, and 1500 miles of break in already blew the short 2017 season for me.

I haven't checked if my old 3/27 TPW got bumped out, but if others are planning to track or autocross in their ZL1's, they are in for some pain. I don't know of any competitive venue that starts in June or July. Many run on points and starting with one car but finishing with another car in another class is usually a recipe for being at the bottom of both groups.

As a mod you should not take my post personally. I have been through this a number of times in recent years, with Chevrolet in particular. It is my opinion that Chevy over promises and under produces for the amount of hype they put out. I experienced this in 2012 for the GEN5 ZL1 (received in 2013 MY) and my 2015 C7 Z06. I now require an auto trans due to a disability. Chevy "hyped" the auto trans. & convertible performance models for two years before the first ones hit the lots. I have purchased 43 (myself, my wife & kids) new Chevy trucks, vans and cars over the years and do have a working knowledge of the process from order to delivery. This does not include other GM models. I am a GM Family member and have remained loyal. I take it from your post that you personally guarantee that every ZL1 order will be fulfilled. I feel different. Yes, there is a problem. You even refer in your response post to the "always bottlenecks" "re-arranged shifts" As a mod, I am certain you read all these posts about constraints, unavailability, unaccepted orders, inordinate waits, lack of communication at whatever level, restrictions on dealer allocation procedures, limited ordering consensus, shift reductions, plant shutdowns, dealer overstock etc., etc., etc. Do you really believe this is the best way to run a company? The youtube post of Al O. speaking if you watch in its entirety speaks of these very problems, especially to availability during the period of initial production and inventory build-up. I am not knocking Chevrolet. I don't think any one person can claim being more loyal Chevrolet/GM than me. I am only stating my opinion and personal experience and my words are truthful and and very real. Your snipes about "my timeline" and "not the first rodeo like this" are not appropriate if directed at me. I am offended in that simply denying there is a problem does not make it so. If you read my previous post, I am very happy not to receive my ZL1 during cold weather due to the well known "summer only" tire cracking problem. Or is that not another problem not addressed too. If you think there is no problem, I feel you are wrong. You heard nothing from me on any matter before January 2017 on any of these issues. I read the ZL1 playbook too. I knew there was plant shutdown at the beginning of the year. The way they have "over sold" (please, my opinion) the A10 and the long anticipation for "2000" and "3000" acceptance of our orders, just to have you order backed up and TPW pushed is a problem for those of us who have experienced this. Some of us would like a little stability to make financial and other arrangements for their car. Of course it would seem Mr. Mlee that this is not a problem for those who's ZL1 have been produced, like you. As always, thank you for your input. That's what this forum is for.

Just thinking as a business owner but GM should be smart and build only the SRE orders if running behind since they are sold units. I would keep my customer base happy and the dealer cars will never be missed. JMHO... I Still Love GM and will wait it out... so GM get the ball rolling...

If there is an apparent demand for the ZL1 why doesn't chevy keep a third shift working to meet the demand.

Chevy has been trying to address an overstock of Camaro products of an original 170+ day inventory. Imagine shutdown will be until available overall inventory is reduced to their target.

You sir win the grand prize! 100% in agreement with you. Many sitting on lots when many cant get a car due to allocation .. Sad actually ...

My 2012 allocation was pushed back to 2013 so no lecture needed. I was also standing in the background of that video so you're not telling me anything I haven't heard 1st hand. No need to go on a rant and disrespect the Camaro Chief either. We can all discuss these issues in a respectful manner. If you feel my post was condescending and embarrassed you, just let me know via PM and I'll delete it.

Another thing we are not going to do is go back and forth and ruin this thread. This is meant for folks with similar issues to relay what's happened to their TPW and share info as we get it. I made the call and provided a current update as of yesterday. Waiting for new "sports" cars can be a fun experience even with delays. Let's keep it that way.

Again, please utilize PM if you wish to continue this.

There are a ton of financial issues going on as well affecting production. Dramatic levels of leased vehicles and low interest have driven huge inventories of used vehicles being turned in and now competing with new car sales. There are a large number of sub-prime vehicles loans experiencing defaults. The glut is real. There is was a bubble created in the industry. Not sure where the ZL1 production fits in, but as a percentage of production inventory competing in this glut, I'm sure it's just part of the big picture.
