They're refusing to process my refund now. I told them I would see them in court.

edit - I'm all set. Douche bags tried telling me it would show up next week. More lies LOL. They already offered a refund, now they re-neg on it and they want me to believe them that it's coming. Worst dealer ever.

The dealer can still do right by you and buy a LT RS deck, paint it and put on the blade. They knew. Man up!

Terryville Chevrolet only has 3 Nightfall Gray cars listed on their website. It's a shame they are all SS's because you may have been able to get them to trade decklids with another Nightfall Gray LT.

Why give them an opportunity to string him along any more? If they really went into super descriptive detail and said 40 Camaro SS have been built with a blade, then they are willing to intentionally lie at that point. A large number of people on these forums are following the blade spoiler situation very closely because the stock SS spoiler has had such bad backlash from day one. I think we'd have heard good news by now if it was coming.

I'll say it again: Wait for 2017 if you want to order a Camaro SS with a blade spoiler. The orders should open in April with a delivery time of late August if you're quick enough and if the QC hold isn't too long. We've got tons of confirmation at this point that this is the timeline. Yes, you will lose this summer for driving essentially, but you'll get a car that has had most of the major kinks worked out. And 2016 had plenty of kinks.

If the OP wants a ZL1, I say go for it. Although personally, if I was in a $50k price range and wanted to get the most bang for buck while staying in that budget, the 1LE is going to be on sale soon too. I would lean toward that more so as a daily driver.

GM has taught us many things including copy, paste and save all correspondence, all messages and record every every phone conversation. Very helpful to be able to shine a little sunshine when people try to backtrack or outright lie. We empathize with your situation. It's a pretty pathetic way to do business but not surprising. The worst part is GM on the corporate level does not care in any way shape or form what their dealerships do as long as they are getting units off their lots. People can be apologists for them all they want to but the fact remains their polices breed situations like this and they just don't care.

Fortunately, you're somewhat wrong there. They're hands are 100% tied by dealership franchise laws. And they don't dare pitch a fit...because the dealerships are ALL in cahoots to protect their rear ends...brand affinity aside.

GM, along with most manufacturers, secretly wish dealership franchise laws don't exist as they do for exactly these reasons. Remember when they went through the bankruptcy? I can't remember the exact number, but they closed nearly a third of their dealerships...and all the ones that were shuttered had low customer service and/or sales figures. They "pruned" during the only opportunity that had to do so.

It still wasn't enough, though, because too many dealerships are uncaring about the customer's experience. As evidenced by your experiences, and LesBaer's...probably figuring that they won't see these people but once every 4-6 years. Worse still...many salespeople lack the time, personal integrity, or incentive to familiarize themselves with the product they're selling.

Luckily, there are several real good people and dealerships that we can go to...just have to be willing to pay a little more or drive.

netslave, hoping I am not rubbing a sore spot here but I remember reading about the paint on your car being completely unacceptable and the problems you have had since, just wondering of the situation has been corrected. Again hope I am not hitting a sore spot here.

I'm still sitting here in shock. I'd be happy with this SS and it's finally here. They lies are just insane. The guy is claiming he told me now that he couldn't get the blade spoiler. You guys can see all the posts I made - literally right after I would get off the phone with them to give people a heads up on what I was hearing.

I don't even care that much about the blade spoiler itself. But these guys did an about face today on the refund after all these phony stories. There's so much lying and BS...they have no integrity at all.

In one conversation with the sales manager in February I remember him saying how important their turn rate was to keeping their ranking. There are also many visual cues around the office that tell you that their focus is on their numbers, not the customer.

Anyway, tonight the manager called me on his own right after I posted and was trying the typical tactics to listen then re-write history on the phone, a standard low-level attempt by a trained chimp - but couldn't even control himself to let me speak. He just wanted the car sold. I went into full blown tear-you-a-new-asshole mode...you can imagine how it all went. My credit card was used for the deposit and I've already got my money back by processing a charge back against them via a dispute. I've got a great card, a solid record and all the supporting paperwork to back everything up, so I have no worries. The dispute will piss them off even more and I also filed a complaint with the BBB. If these guys were honest, I would have taken the car and just traded up to a ZL1 in a couple years - with them likely too!

Here's my salesman's email to me. This is a guy that NEVER returned a call to me until today. The sales manager (Jim) told me Eric Reese was my salesman and I have his card. That's his email to me is below.

However, another guy, "Steven" sent me the photos today and called to tell me the car was a few weeks out and then again when it came in. He literally dumped me onto the parts manager (Tom?) when shit hit the fan.

The parts manager is the one who told me the 40 cars story and that their Chevy or GM rep was involved because of the attention this was getting here on the forum (based on what they were saying about the blade spoiler). He's the same guy that had gotten the front lip spoiler (again with the help of the their rep) from another dealer, but really didn't - AND went to the trouble of calling me back the next day to confirm something that never happened. Yes, my head is spinning too.

Attached you will find the credit card authorization form for the refund of your deposit. Please fill it out and email it back to me or fax it to 860-261-5329. If you decide to fax it, just shoot me an email to let me know--the fax machine is in a secure location.

I apologize again for how this went down. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you now or in the future. And if you change your mind and decide to give us a chance to earn your business and get you in this Camaro sooner, please let me know what I can do to make that happen.

This really hits the nail on the head. It's exactly what I understand of the situation (franchise vs. GM) and specifically the "salespeople lacking the experience with the product" is so true, I couldn't say it better myself. When their wires get crossed, they take the wrong route to correcting the problem - which is just tell the customer what they want to hear and don't tell them anything that could jeopardize the sale. I honestly think these bozos thought they were going to be able to get the parts on the side and put them on whatever car they could get through the order process without telling me. When I started asking questions, they started making up stories. Then they couldn't get the parts and are now trying to change the story. It's so sad that this is still how the car business is run.

Sorry that you had to deal with all that bs but the result doesn't surprise me at all. It's really bad that they egg'd you on just to get a sale out of it instead of just being honest and flat out telling you what I have been saying, the blade spoiler does not work on the SS lid and there is no "new" blade spoiler. I will admit that was quite a bit shady on their side which is just sad to see such dealerships exist and almost did get your business. Can't go wrong with the ZL1 but cost of purchase and ownership your 2SS build is unbeatable and the vehicle is amazing!

That sounds like a standard GM email template that they use for disgruntled customers.

In one statement all I can say is:

They should be reported to GM head office.

I've followed this thread & agree that the sales staff are under-trained and for example. I went to my area chevy dealer and asked about the "performance parts" division for the aftermarket parts sales. The salesman had no knowledge of the division? I feel for you guys as I had trouble at my Ford division, same dealership. The salespeople need training or "hire" knowledgeable sales staff? This is why I am starting a custom car concept business to help un-educated peeps buy with confidence the upgrades to make the car "theirs".
