How would they be making more money? They aren't charging you MSRP for the optional parts. You get charged full price for LPOs because you keep the original and optional parts.

For 2015, the Z51 option on the Corvette was exactly $5,000. For that money, you got:
larger wheels unique aero package larger front brakes springs/shocks/stabilizer bars elsd electronic limited slip diff diff and trans coolers PLUS A DRY SUMP OIL SYSTEM So, I see one thing you get on the Stingray Z51 that you don't get on the 1LE. Dry Sump. On the 1LE, they add in the Magnetic Ride Suspension as standard part of 1LE. That would have cost you $1,800 to add to the Z51. SO, lets do some goofy math here for fun....... $5,000 cost for Z51. Add $1,800 to add the magnetic ride to that package. Subtract $1,000 for losing the cost of the dry sump equipment since the 1LE won't have that? I'm guessing here? You guys chime in what you think??? So, in that half assed attempt, I end up with $5,800 as the educated guess on the cost of the 1LE package on the Camaro 1LE. LOL!!?!?!? What do you guys think? Discuss! |

I do think that FE4 will be no more expensive than standard MRC, I am curious to see if the FE4 option is available for non 1LE |

That is a good question though...why wasn't the dry sump system for the LT1 put on the 1LE equipment list?
Wasn't the Gen 5 1LE with the LS3 a dry sump system? |

No, it's the standard wet sump LS3.

I didn't read the entire thread, but just the first page mostly.
If its really just "a little" higher...and say its just a $5,000 package....its a steal...and absolute bargain for all that you are getting. I still think that might be optimistic, and we could be looking at 6 or even 7 grand. But even so, it will be equal or better than 2016 GT350 (base) performance for likely 5 to 8 grand less, and likely not far off 2017 GT350 performance (2017 model is getting track package standard) for likely 10 grand less.
