$173 a month for our '13 Lexus GS350, '15 Lexus IS350 and '16 2SS. We get a discount for multi-car, multi-policy and a scientist discount (because I am a kinesiologist and my wife is a nurse). Farmers.

Sometimes insurance companies are just looking for reasons to increase your rate, I have seen them trying to call something like a hybrid a sports car just so they can charge more.
Really I think the best thing to do would be to shop around, I once looked up insurance rates for a 1990 Corvette and it ranged from $1,000 for 12 months to $3,000........ Some insurance companies have different ways of calculating your rates while others are more willing to take on risk then others. |

Few days late to the party, but thought I'd share my rate.
Mid 20's, married, from KS side of the KC metro. Clean record and no claim history for either my wife or I. 1SS as my DD. $97 w/tax per month for coverage through Nationwide. Bodily: $100k/$300k Property: $100k Uninsured Motorist: $100k/$300k Personal Injury: $4500 Glass: $0 Comprehensive & Collision Deductibles: $500 Accident & Minor Violation Forgiveness There's a multipolicy discount with insuring our home through them as well. When comparing rates last year and this year we could have saved $10 to $12 a month with another company, but Nationwide is one of the few insurance companies in my area that don't charge a separate deductible for wind/hail damage. We get a lot of damaging thunderstorms in the midwest, and it's only a matter of when, not if, you'll get some hail damage to your roof. Most everyone else charges 1-5% of the insured value as a deductible for these instances, which even at 1% is astronomically higher than my standard deductible and filing a claim once would wipe out close to a decade's worth of monthly auto insurance saving by going with anyone else. They're also one of the only companies in my area I could find that offered full roof replacement value regardless of age, rather than actual cash value (depreciated value). Also only have to pay the home deductible if a tornado picks up my house along with the Camaro in the garage and throws them both miles down the road. Found several other companies that would charge both deductibles in that instance. Sorry for the long post, and full disclosure I don't sell insurance or know anyone personally who does - just thought some others from the Midwest might find the info somewhat beneficial when shopping insurance rates if they bundle their home and auto.

I'm jealous of you guys and your cheap insurance rates.. Trying to get my rates fixed at the moment.
But on the Camaro I'm looking at $500 a month with decent limits, collision and comprehensive.. More expensive than my Stingray :(

I have AAA Insurance with full coverage on the 07 Ford Taurus and the 16SS that isn't here yet with $500 ded. for everything. 100/300K for all coverages 33 yrs old single no tickets/accidents.
$550 every 6 months also have homeowners with them too. People my only suggestion is to shop around and do a Google search for insurance. I remember going to some quote website where I received 6-10 insurance companies quotes and I believe AAA was the cheapest with my home and auto. Definitely had the best coverage and cheapest for my home. Most of the car quotes were all within a $100/per 6 months. I usually try to check my insurance rates about every 2 years. It is amazing how prices differ from company to company. Your credit rating is a huge factor when shopping with the big insurance companies like Allstate, State Farm. Since I bought my house in 2007 I have had Allstate, Travelers, and AAA Insurance whom I have had for the last couple of years. If you have bad credit you probably should look for one of the smaller insurance companies. |
