I can already tell you we will see some nice gains from a real CAI without a tune. Just opening the stock crap intake lid slightly gave my car 10 RWHP and 10 RWTRQ gains to the wheels.

Believe it or not on the Chevy trucks at least the best numbers come from the stock box and paper air filter with a different tube. Been tested independently. The airraid modular intake tube with stock box shows the best numbers on the 5.3 trucks.

Interesting how you and I had totally different results with this experiment.
I dyno'd mine just yesterday and we unscrewed and propped up the air filter top and made a pull. It actually lost 2 whp and about 2 wtq because it leaned out nearly 1 point! Of course if it had not leaned out I'm sure it would have gained.

I am starting to think it is an issue with the A8 not being able to test in 6th gear which is the 1:1.
