CAFE is only going to get more strict, which is why the base model of the new Camaro is now a turbo 4 instead of a V6, because CAFE looks across the entire fleet of vehicles sold. However, CAFE and emissions have been getting stricter for quite some time now, and performance outputs have steadily increased over the years. Am I saying that there are going to be 600 HP 1SS Camaros from the factory? No. But I think it would be safe to assume that power output could increase by another 20-30 horsepower without affecting emissions as GM plays with intake, head, and other component designs in the coming years.

I personally believe there not going to make a new 1LE. Which is good news for 5th gen 1LE owners and would make it a rare model.
No, the 1LE is not a ZL1 minus the blower. There are a few suspension pieces it shares with the ZL1, the wheels and the fuel pump. It did not get the ZL1's heavy-duty driveline, MRC or its brakes. The ZL1's aero package is much more comprehensive than the 1LE splitter. The 1LE is an SS with some nice suspension work, wheels and gearing not a baby Z.

I read the Camaro is SAE certified for a bit over 458hp.

The new SS does an amazing job on the figure 8 (24.1 sec) when you consider the tires it's running. There is a lot on the table when you add sticky 285 rubber on all 4 corners, lighter wheels and a 3.91 gear. They might even add a PDR. My gues is that these small changes won't effect 0-60 or 1/4 mile much, maybe a 1/10th on each. At the track the changes will pay off big. A figure 8 of around 23.8 would be a big indicator. I can'r remember the last time they bumped power on an engine without revising it's naming, would not hold my breath on a power bump. The SS is not deficient in power anyway, the challenger needs the power if that's your benchmark.

I don't know and I don't care. Also I know is the Gen 66 SS looks to be more than enough car for me, but since I'm not buying one anytime soon, I'll happily sit on the sidelines and see which version tickles my fancy the most.

I'd be happy to just know whether or not a 1le will exist. There is, at this point, no official answer to that question. By this time, I'd expect such basic information announced. That way, I can plan on a purchase. Not knowing either way only puts someone like me on hold and tests my decision to buy a Camaro all together. Just saying.

Why? The 5th gen 1LE came about in the 2013 model year, and I don't recall GM saying much about it ahead of time. Certainly not in 2009 when they first started building 5th gens.

I'm sure that you would like to know ... but that doesn't mean that you should expect to know.

He is probably like me. I can only pull the trigger once.
If I lay out for a 1ss and find out 4 - 6 months later or next year that a 1LE is comming - it would suck.

It would shock me to see the 1LE option or the ZL1 anywhere in the '16 model year. Those types of things just rarely happens in the first model year these days.

Says who? You? GMAFB!

The 1LE and Z28 are the main reasons.. probably the only reasons, why many have expected great things from the 6gen Camaro. Given the reviews thus far, that expectation has proven to be validated.

Some advice, try not telling people what to expect or think.
