Not sure how this

sounds more like "muscle" than this

But whatever, one is a sport coupe and the other is a sports car. They both sound similar and fantastic to me.

No problem. There is still confusion over the CCBs.

Didn't realize they removed them either. That's unfortunate.

Carbon ceramic brakes on the gt350.

Wasn't worth the cost is what I'm gathering.

I wouldn't want the expense unless I was a hard core track guy. Soooo expensive.

How do you think they kept the price reasonable? It was a sacrifice so they didnt end up with a Ford version of the Z28 sitting in lots and not selling. Thats a $10k savings.

Ford cut the carbon ceramic brakes and instead went with carbon fiber wheels. The cost is probably pretty close to the same.

Really, the biggest gain from using carbon ceramic brakes is for the reduced unsprung mass. If it wasn't for the fact that the Zeta Camaro was such a heavy platform I doubt GM would have put carbon ceramics on the Z/28 in the first place.

I don't see the point of the GT350R. It's basically a GT350TP with aftermarket wheels and spoiler.

.
On a street car maybe, but there are definitely benefits of CC brakes in racing. And let's not forget the the R MSRP is $61k, I'm sure adding another $10k in brakes to make it the same price as the Z/28 wasn't well received given the Z/28s sales. Ford definitely didn't want to make that mistake when it knows it will only sell a few anyway.

Carbon fiber wheels are $30k for the set. I doubt GMs CCBs are $30k for the whole set up.

Do you actually believe Ford pays $30K for those wheels?

Carbon ceramic brakes are overrated all around, IMO. If they cost a third of what they do it would probably be worth it on a production car.

No, they have a contract with the supplier and most likely get a "bulk" price.... they pay maybe $5000 a set? something in that range

Of course not. Do you believe GM pays $10k for a set of CCBs?
